As always, Icelandair hotels confirm to be the most reliable hotel chain in Iceland (a country characterised by overpriced and disappointing hotels). The hotel is on top of the hill, a short walk from the high street. Nice and comfortable rooms, we didn't have breakfast nor dinner, so can't comment on that.

The only thing I think is missing is refrigerators in rooms.

I almost always stay at Icelandair hotel when I am in Akureyri so I like it really much. The rooms are really nice and comfy beds. The location is also good. Nice happy hour bar in the lobby.

Our first room had a bad smell to it. We reported it to the staff and they gave us another room. They were extremely helpful and handled the whole situation very well.

The restaurant meal was a bit disappointing, the food was a little overcooked, it was tasty but not brilliant.

The hotel reception was welcoming as were the staff. The views were great from the room. The beds were comfortable and the shower good. The breakfast was tasty and well laid out. There is a lot of parking outside and it is close to town, but up a very steep hill.

I didn't like the placement of my room in that it was on the ground floor next to the main road so not a good view also it was very close to main reception so I could hear noise from other guests coming and going. Also the TV had a choice of 2 channels that worked in English and the subtitles didn't work on the foreign channels. These are not things that would stop me visiting again.

The room was a very good size and the shower was particularly good with a strong water flow. I was very comfortable. The breakfast was one of the best I've seen in iceland, so much choice of hot and cold foods, excellent.

It was our third hotel during our trip to Iceland and you might find a better deal for the same quality elsewhere.

Great location, close to the city centre and the swimming pool which is just on the opposite side of the street. the room was clean and comfortable. However, the windows were quick to get cloudy due to cold weather outside.

The heat in the room was not enough for us.

Walking distance to everything in the city. Felt very much like an American hotel back home. Bed was ok, shower was good, lobby was the place to be for drinks and meetings. The food was delicious!

Not ideal to spot the northern lights as it is located in the middel of the city.

Delicious breakfast with a lot of choices. Modern room with good shower and bed. Very nice restaurant. It was one of the best diners we had in Iceland. Cozy bar with fireplace.

The shower was really good but the placement off it meant water coming into the room.

The smell of waffles strolling down the stairs to breakfast was probably my favorite. Room was exceptional. Hairdryer was actually decent (compared to many hotels where you could as well just breathe on your hair). Hotel is also right next to the local swimming pool in a quiet area, though a walking distance from town centre.
