Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThere are 2 shared bathrooms with showers. The dorm room got so hot at night. There should be a limit on how high heater can be in a shared room in winter. Also that door needs fixing, a little hard to open and noisy when you're trying to be quiet.
Great stop for a nights stay. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming. There is a kitchen and laundry, huge lounge area. We were in an 8 bed dorm, generally people woke up early to make the most of the day and were respectful enough. Power points and light by each bed.

United States of AmericaI wish the bathrooms were not too close to the kitchen area, or at least they should put a door to between the kitchen and where sinks are. It will give some privacy to bathroom users as well as the people who are eating in the kitchen in the same time. The rooms are dorm rooms and all opening up to the kitchen. It gets very crowded in the morning.
Wonderful ambiance all over with the wall arts. There is a big theater/concert area inside. Individuals sitting areas are cute. Very nice/kind receptionist. The room is okay and clean. I saw that they put an effort to cleaning well. They sell beers this is a huge plus.

GermanyRoom got a lot of noise from the kitchen and the main entrance, walls and door a bit thin.
Beautiful area, cool concept of having a community center + hostel (though there were no events when we were there). Bathrooms very clean, kitchen well equipped and clean as well. Loved the big "living room" (which was actually the event space/bar), though you won't need it with the beautiful nature around.

United States of AmericaThey should update their Booking.com information because: 1. My confirmation stated "Start your day with breakfast for $11 per guest, per night.". However there was no option for breakfast. I even heard another guest ask a staff member about this and they were told there's no breakfast there. 2. We booked the Family Room (1 full bed, 1 bunk bed) and although the whole room was booked to ourselves we were still anxious that maybe someone else was supposed to stay in our room because it wasn't entirely clear on the Booking confirmation. Since it is a hostel it can be confusing if booking the room means booking the entire room to yourself or not, so I think that should be made more clear to customers on Booking.com just for peace of mind. 3. People booking might not be comfortable with the fact that you can only lock your room from the inside. It would be helpful if this was stated when booking. 4. Our confirmation stated check in from 4:00PM-10:00PM but we weren't aware that this meant there was no staff available after 10PM as well. We wanted to rent towels after 10:00PM but couldn't because there was no staff onsite. Also there's signs in the bathroom that state you shouldn't use the hand dryers after 10PM (or maybe it was 11PM?) because they are very loud. That's fine but instead of providing paper towels they put out one singular hand towel for all guests to use (ew). There weren't even paper towels in the kitchen area. 5. Although the room I booked is called "Family Room" I don't think this hostel would be the best environment for a family with young children due to the quiet hours, shared bathrooms, lack of paper towels, no access to staff after 10PM, and general adult vibe of the place (bar in lounge area, decor, adult humor WiFi password, etc.).
Lounge space was very cozy and the decor was very cool. Convenient parking. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. It was quiet after 10PM and all guests respected that by speaking softly, not slamming doors, etc.

SingaporeThe doorknob to the room I stayed in needs fixing, I thought it was locked, it takes so much strength to open (more than I have) and if someone else had not come out to use the toilet at night, thus opening the door... I might've ended up sleeping outside.
The beds were already made which is a bonus for hostels. Huge bar/lounge area with lots of character, and many couches. Vending machine for snacks which I didn't try but looks cute. Well-equipped kitchen. Hot shower. Free earplugs. Good value.

SwitzerlandThe cultural aspect of this guesthouse and the mood it brings are just fantastic. A must to go if you're doing the Snæfell region. Coffees and beers at very reasonable price for Iceland. They give you ticket for the swimming pool because time to time the shower can be crowded.

United States of AmericaI think a really beneficial addition would be for more hooks to hang things in the rooms, and a rug in each room to help trap some sand and keep the rooms cleaner easier.
I have stayed at the freezer on each of my three trips to Iceland. Always pleasant staff, very welcoming, casual at home feel.

SloveniaBathroom and toilet facilities are quite limited and their layout is also inconvenient. However, this is not a big issue as long as the number of guests is small.
Almost everything was fine here. The bed was comfy, the WiFi worked well, the staff was friendly. Everything was clean and tidy. It was very easy to find the hostel. All in all, very good value for money in this part of the country.
