Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaIt would likely be quite hot during hot season because there is no air con. Being close to the water there are quite a few mosquitoes.
The staff are so friendly and attentive. It’s just a budget hotel but they always are looking for ways to make you comfortable such as bringing you cold water and turning on fans. Lots of complimentary fruit on offer. It is not a party hostel and the vibe is laid back and quiet.

We absolutely loved our stay. The common space was the best in all our stays in SE Asia, it was so comfortable, relaxing and looked lovely. Heavy rain came one day and listening to the rain all around you, while relaxing in a chair was an experience we will always remeber. But let's not forget about the people who were so kind and helpful! The small surprise like a platter of fruit and cold water really made a difference. This place really felt like a home. P.S. Special thank you to Monica who, after we forgot a small, but precious thing to us, sent the package to Phnom Penh without hesitation. Thank you Monica!

Nice quiet location right on the small river to take the kayaks out free of charge. We were served delicious food from the restaurant and always given fresh fruit and cold water when we arrived back home each day. The ladies in charge were really friendly and we were able to stay around and relax in the hammocks until our night bus. We also took out the scooters for a day, it was very affordable and the bikes were in good condition. I would definitely come back here if I were to stay in Kampot again. There is also two very fat friendly cats that love a snuggle :)

IrelandWe loved our stay at retro kampot. The food here is incredible. Best fish amok we have had in Cambodia. Really great kayaks can use for free really nice to kayak around sunset. Free fruit and water refills and the staff are so kind and warm and welcoming they do everything they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible, provide all information about kampot and things to do and rent scooters for you to explore. Really wonderful place.

Excellent stay!! Monika and the staff were fantastic and super friendly. The food was amazing and plentiful. Really appreciated the delicious fresh fruit served with each meal. Enjoyed our time in Kampot especially kayaking down the river at sunset on the kayaks provided by the guesthouse. The common space has such a relaxing peaceful vibe and a great place to connect with other guests. Wish we could have stayed longer!!!

We loved the location beside the river. We went kayaking down the Green Cathedral, which was beautiful. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious. Our cabin was clean and comfy with a private balcony to relax on. Free water and fruit was a lovely touch, too.

SwitzerlandThe guesthouse is located 10 min away from the center of Kampot. We didn't mind as we were looking to stay in a quieter place but can understand people wanting to stay closer to the center.
We stayed two weeks in Cambodia and this was probably the best place we stayed at for several reasons. The place is beautiful, the staff is so nice and the food is amazing. Everytime we would walk into the reception/restaurant area, the staff would bring us a fresh glass of water and a plate of fruits (best fruits we ate in Cambodia btw). The bungalows are really nice and right next to the river. Kayaks can be used for free

United States of AmericaThere's only so much air conditioning can do when the outside temperature is 100 degrees Fahrenheit, so be prepared to sweat if you're going to Cambodia in April.
We got spoiled here by the excellent staff and fresh fruit (we're still craving the mango). Upon arrival two hours earlier than check-in, we were greeted with a bowl full of fresh mango, homemade coconut rolls, cold water, and brochures of information for our stay. A few minutes later our room was ready, so we were able to get started on our day. Kayaks were available for free, the menu offered both Khmer and Western food with large portions at a reasonable price, and we rented a motorbike to take down the road to Climbodia for a day.

United KingdomWe stayed at Retro for 5 days. The staff were incredible and looked after us so well! We were offered fresh fruit and ice cool water whenever we entered the seating area. The food at the restaurant was incredibly tasty and the portions were more than generous. During our stay we used the Kayaks provided by the guesthouse (for free!) on multiple occasions, including to go and watch the sunset on the river, which was lovely. They also helped us to arrange day trips and taxis whenever we needed them. We would recommend a trip to Bokor National Park, a beautiful area with some interesting history. The rooms were a good size and very comfortable with a memory foam mattress, a powerful shower and a hammock alongside a sofa & table.

GermanyWe stayed in a double room with AC in the main house. Our neighbors were a bit loud, slamming the doors and the wooden floor does creek. So i would recommend using earplugs or staying at a bungalow if you are a light sleeper.
Best hostel with the most attentive and lovely staff! Great lounging areas with lots of hammock, free bikes and kayaks for guests. Amazing food, try the fish amok - a bottle of different but the tastiest we had.

United KingdomNB it's a 10 minute tuktuk from town but only 2$ so not an issue. It's a good place to relax away from the dust of town!
What a gorgeous place to stay! Staff were so friendly, the communal area was so comfy and the food served was delicious and reasonably priced. They even let my friend from another hotel come on the kayak with me for free. They were really hospitable. I only stayed for 2 nights but would have been very happy there staying for a few nights more.
