Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomIn the town centre but not noisy once balcony doors were shut. Fan and air con, room had everything you needed and the shower was very hot. Drinks available to buy on site which meant we could have a beer on our balcony looking out at the river and mountains. Helpful staff - they arranged our taxi to the airport.

PortugalUnfortunately the building is old, which can be noisy, specially if you stay on the ground floor, you can hear people walking in the upstairs rooms and closing and opening the doors, this will obviously depend on how loud the guests above are. The shower takes around 2/3 minutes running to become hot and that's quite a waste, it's also hard to balance between hot/cold water.
The building is quite charming, the view is interesting since it's in front of the river and you can see the local life. The room is nice and the bed is good. The staff was very helpful and tried to provide for our requests. The breakfast was good.

United States of AmericaI wondered why staff members seemed so solemn. When I opted for a room in the "traditional Lao wooden house" annex, I expected something with a bit more charm, but it was just a room like any other.
The inn is located steps from the main street in the historic center, and overlooks the pretty Namkhan river. Despite being directly over the street my room was quiet at night as traffic is very light. Air conditioning and ceiling fan are much appreciated. The bed is good, and the bathroom is clean and functions properly. There is a choice of breakfast options and the "Western" breakfast is really very good.

ThailandThe bathroom is quite old.
The hotel has a great location with a panoramic view of Nam Khan river. It is close to the main street and the night market, but is much more quiet. My room on the first floor with a terrace is large. The staffs gave a standard service. You can ask them to arrange a minivan ride to the airport for 100,000 LAK (shuttle from the airport costed me 80,000 LAK). A morning alms set (sticky rice, snack, seating) can be arranged for a high price. I would recommend to buy local food from the morning market and join the ceremony at a less touristic areas though.

ThailandAs a heritage listed building I can find no fault.
The location is great. It is a Heritage listed building Number 323 so Luang Prabang is A Must see town and no matter where you stay but do stay in the old town and Heritage listed hotels/motels/guesthouses. So I would recommend definitely stay in this area.

BelgiumFormidable stay, the staff were very polite and helped us with tours, restaurants, motorbike renting,... The room was cosy, ...lovely and we had an amazing 3 days of sleep. For breakfast, you have a choice of 3 styles western, Asian and Lao... all so good and with fresh bread. The hotel is well-located in Luang Prabang, close to Phousi hill, a 5 min walk to the night market, and a 2 min walk to the Mekong river,... close also to the commercial streets with a lot of bars and restaurants.

Just around the corner from all the main attractions, Phousi Hill for sunset. Alns. monk ceremony, the Presidential museum & the Royal Ballet. The hotel even packed my breakfast for the slow boat trip to Pakbeng. I wish to highly recommend the Saynamkhan Hotel 10/10.

The location is very near to many attractions, such as Phousi Hill and Buddhist Stupa for your hiking to see the sunset, alms-offering to the monks in the early morning, beautiful temples, bamboo bridge, and many famous cafe that you can enjoy variety of tasty bakery and coffee. The local staffs are really great, superb friendly and supportive to all your needs. They kindly provided a lot of useful guidances with their wholeheartedly services to us, such as explaining many attractions and places to eat soon after we arrived. Also, they arranged a rental motorbike with reasonable price for our 2-day use, which make our trips remarkably because we could travel freely and enjoy a whole city of Luang Prabang, not only the tourist spot at Tat Kuang Si Water Fall, but we could also find a hidden gem of local restaurant where Lao young people enjoy having lunch with nice scenery along the Nam Khan River. If you wish to stay at Luang Prabang for a peaceful vocation, this hotel should be one of your top list.
