Spectacular views over the Ella countryside were a highlight. A relaxing place that really is a hidden gem. The hosts are friendly and very helpful. They also provide an amazing breakfast to have on the balcony looking over the amazing scenery.

There is literally nothing.

I‘ve never had an owner such as nice as he was. Whatever you want to do he finds a Solution for you or Can organize something for you. I cannot Imagine there could be any better place to stay in Ella. Breakfast was amazing. Service: I have no words for such good Service. Best Service I‘ve ever experienced. The View was spectacular. One advice: stay there longer than just one night!!!

Thankfully we could make the steps to the lodgings ok, but staff were very helpful with luggage and their yuk yuk.

Views exceeded expectations. The experience of being immersed in the jungle canopy was beautiful. Watching the hornbills and train at breakfast (after seeing the sunrise from the balcony). :)

An amazing experience we had with accommodation in Sri Lanka. I cannot stress how important it is to stay here. The family that host are the warmest most kindest people. Amazing food is served by the owners + there are restaurants within 100m of the location. Ella is super cool like this. The town is very touristy & gross in my opinion, everything in the hills near blooming rose isn’t ha ! Walking the tracks down to town / the station is awesome also. The view. WOW. Just you wait !

The view is UNBELIEVABLE. The hosts were so lovely and hospitable. The location is fantastic, just a short tuk tuk ride away from the centre of Ella and the owner gave us rides in his tuk tuk. The breakfast was delicious and there was always a fantastic spread.

It was not that close to Ella town but the owner offered free tuktuk rides into town which was brilliant. The room had no air con but we knew this in advance.

We had bats flying around our room one night and kept us awake, but eased off the second night. There was also no option to have any dinner at the hotel, but that wasn't too much of a problem.

Location was great as we were about 15 minute walk outside of Ella town. The room was spacious and clean, and also had a lovely terrace outside which looked out onto Ella rock. The host and other members of staff were really friendly and arranged breakfast for us every morning which was also delicious. Super chilled vibe. Another plus- there was a family run restaurant about 5-10 minute walk rom the hotel called 'Ella siyapatha hut restaurant' serving amazing food and does a lovely cooking class too.

Nothing, it was a perfect stay.

This was our favourite accommodation in Sri Lanka. The view from the balcony in our room and the terrace for breakfast was absolutely breathtaking. You could also walk to Ella town centre by a lovely walk via the train tracks and also walk to Ella Rock from the accommodation. The host and his family were so lovely, always happy to help and the breakfasts were delicious. So many different types of fruit and amazing pancakes/hoppers. We really recommend Blooming Rose Ella to all.

It was great! The view is amazing. Wonderful hotel owner. Excellent breakfasts. Thank you very much!!! The hotel is located on a mountainside, a little away from the noisy Ella. There are no problems with movement. But the silence, tranquility and beauty of nature!

Even though we were only there for a short night stay, the hosts were extremely hospitable and lovely. We didnt realise it was in a bit of a tricky location so we had packed our full suitcases - the team were so helpful and carried our bags down, and back up the next morning. The views from here are absolutely beautiful, and the hosts generously organised a packed breakfast for us as we checked out at 6am the next morning. This was probably one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept on my whole trip.

The accommodation is beautiful with a nice patio in front of each room. The view from the rooms and the breakfast patio is incredible! We had a perfect stay here and Gunarathna was the perfect host! He was so helpful in helping us with our plans and was absolutely kind. The breakfast was delicious and we can’t imagine a better place in Ella than Blooming Rose!

Shower temperature was lukewarm at best but consistent. Some floor mats or a squeegee would be appreciated so the bathroom isn't so wet all the time.

Boss is always on site and shows incredible hospitality. Very very kind and makes every effort to help the guest have a good time. He drives you to the town in a tuk tuk for free if he is free. Terrace has an incredible view while you eat breakfast. Feels very jurassic. The accommodation is comfortable and clean. Location of the accommodation is 15min walk to town. Be warned, access to the accommodation is via stairs that are extremely steep.

Little guest house perched on the hillside overlooking a beautiful valley with a waterfall. The most incredible view I have ever seen - it felt like waking up in a fairytale. Every room has a perfect view. Spotlessly clean, comfortable beds and attentive staff. Breakfast was local and varied from day to day. I would highly recommend Blooming Rose.

The kindness of the owner is really incredible. Always ready to explain Things, give tips, show you the unbelievable wildlife you can see from your room Terrace and ready to give you a ride to town or further! Very good breakfast with stunning views.

Absolutely beautiful place with an incredible waterfall view and wonderful service. Comfortable room, nice shower and a beautiful balcony. Breakfast was great - 6 different kinds of fruit - with an unbeatable view. The proprietor is very helpful and will tuk tuk you and your bags and then help carry bags down the stairs to the lodging.
