Shower water was a little bit cold in the night

It is located perfectly in walkable distance from Lions Rock ans Pidarangala. There ia also a beautiful big garden in th backyard. The owners were super friendly and helpful. They organized a village tour through Sigirya for us, which was also very recommendable! Also there is a huge veranda from where you can see the Lions Rock. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was good! If you plan to have a warm hearted stay very close to the Lions Rock, definetely come here 👍

Very cosy and relaxed atmosphere with a nice garden. We had a big and clean room with a balcony. The family was really helpful and made our stay very comfortable. They also provided laundry service and the food was very tasty. The place is not far away from the sigyria rock and the other one. We visited polonnaruwa from here and the host arranged a guide for this.

Wi-fi was a bit shaky. They issue small plastic water bottles each day to everyone. To be more environmentally efficient a water bottle filling station could easily be set up.

Spacious, quiet room. Big bathroom. Comfy bed. We stayed 4 days and breakfast was very good and slightly different each day. We had rice and curry first night and decided to have it every night as it was absolutely delicious. Location is excellent for Lion Rock, literally a 10 minute walk. Great place, I'd thoroughly recommend it.

A bit far the centre of the town hence to explore during the night time, it will be required to hire a tuktuk to move around

- the city center is far, unless you're up to asking for a tuk tuk back and forth, it's not easy to just go out and have a drink - In our room a bad smell was coming out of the restroom drains

The best part of this stay has been the warmth welcoming of the Green Hut family and the amazing food cooked for us. After 10 days in SriLanka I've tried many curries and rotti and these were the best! Some of the fruit on your table will be from their own trees (bananas and probably mangoes) They helped us with every request we had: from suggesting the kindest and most value/price tuk-tuk and taxi drivers, to giving a lot of information about the activities we wanted to do in these days in Sigiriya. We discovered late that they also offer a Safari service to the main parks around the area, otherwise for sure we would have gone with them! The room was quite nice compared to other places we've stayed in these days: it's spacious and well equipped. The Hotel is very close to Pidurangala and to Lion's rock (but remember that during night time you can't just walk home but you need a tuktuk as there can be wild elephants roaming in the area).

It is not that I did not like anything there. I just felt that extra care should be given towards the items I mentioned.

Over all my stay there (20.08.2023 to 21.08.2023) was very good. The staff / owner were very responsive. The premises is more closer to Sigiriya fort than to Dambulla. It will be appreciated and welcomed if they provide electric kettle in all rooms with creamer coffee powder / tea bags and sugar. Hot water, Future guests please confirm. The campus inside is lovely. People are lovely. With a few small extra facilities they will go a long way to become the best. By and large a fantastic location for all types of travellers. when we told them that we do not eat eggs, meat or fish they came up with a very sumptuous break fast without egg, meat or fish. Very nice place to stay. Natural and calm environment with free WiFi :) Superb hospitality and very delicious foods. Don't missed Rice and curry in Green hut restaurant. Highly recommended hotel in Sigiriya.

I totally recommend Green Hut. The hosts are wonderful. Right from the start of my booking, their communication was fantastic. They arranged a taxi from the airport, as they have their own airport pick up. I felt totally reassured that the driver would be there to pick me up before I left the UK. And indeed, the driver was there to meet me at the airport and he drove me very safely to Green Hut, where I was warmly welcomed with a lovely drink. The rooms are spotless and very comfortable. Great double bed, mosquito net and good AC as well as a balcony. The breakfast was wonderful-fresh homegrown fruit, toast, coconut roti and at my request hoppers. I also did a cooking class and learnt how to make dhal, pumpkin curry, potatoes and green beans because the lady owner is a very talented cook. This was a real pleasure especially because the produce is grown in their very own garden. The hosts were so accommodating and welcoming. They are just a lovely family. I only wish that I had been able to stay longer. It is right by Lions rock and is a great place to rest, relax and enjoy. Don't hesitate to book it! You will supporting a lovely local family and you will be very well looked after from start to finish.

Everything was fantastic.

The guest house was amazing. We were welcomed by the family who owned the property, and they looked after us the whole time. Delicious breakfast and dinner, and they helped us get tuk tuks and drivers when we needed. A really wonderful room with a balcony and beautiful view. Very clean and no bugs inside the room. I highly reccomend this place, and we will definitely be back soon!!

Location is a long way from anything food is average. Cars, Tuk tuk etc for onward travel is overpriced. Safari offered is overpriced. View of the rock is only from the restaurant roof and isn't a full view and nothing special

Staff try hard to please. Laundry arranged at reasonable price.
