The hotel was so beautiful. Perfectly finished. Tasteful and elegant. The staff, without exception, are absolutely incredible. Nothing is too much to ask and the smiles from everyone made the stay just right.

There was nothing we didn’t like. It is a personal choice, but I probably prefer a room with better natural light and so I would have been better in a room on the double story side of the building where the room appeared to have more externally facing windows.

Wonderful service. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. The breakfast was superb and great attention to presentation. It was a perfect start for our first time in Colombo.

A lovely colonial-style boutique hotel situated in a quiet area. Welcoming and helpful staff who were always available. The room was beautifully furnished, the bed was very comfortable and it was lovely to have an outdoor bathroom. We had cooked breakfasts daily which were amazing, there was plenty of food and it was beautifully presented. We also had dinner, the vegetable curry which was so tasty and a generous serving. We enjoyed our swim in the pool each day after our long walks around Colombo.

What a wonderful oasis of calm and old fashioned grandeur in a beautiful location. We loved everything about this excellent hotel. The staff were warm and welcoming, with every possible need anticipated in advance. The Sri Lankan breakfasts and an incredible Thali for diner remain the best food we have had so far in Sri Lanka. We look forward to a return visit, hopefully in the not too distant future!

Extraordinary vintage home; elegant yet homey, garden and pool heavenly, rooms exquisitely appointed but it was the exceptional staff that was the real treat. This is a sanctuary in the busyness of Colombo. The restaurant is excellent and the neighborhood is beautiful; easy and safe to walk day or night.

I booked a transfer to the airport but I found it too expensive. 45 usd compared 28 usd I paid on arrival with the private transfer from another hotel.

The hotel is a gem in the heart of Colombo. Staff adorable, all of them. They are not just kind and nice, they love their job. The garden is wonderful, I tried the spa which was great at affordable price, and the breakfast is WOW

The only drawback for us was a faulty air conditioning unit, as we struggled with the heat, having just arrived from the UK. However, the staff worked hard to fix it and gave us extra fans and even offered us another room, so they did everything they possibly could to remedy the situation. We trust this will have been sorted in time for the next guests.

This boutique hotel was a real oasis in the heart of Colombo. The friendly and approachable staff made us feel at home in the stylish surroundings, and our rooms were huge and luxuriously furnished. The food was absolutely delicious and always beautifully presented. We also arranged to have two celebratory family gatherings during our stay; one a high tea in the Cigar Room and the other a buffet dinner for 25 guests in the Veranda. Both occasions couldn't have gone better, as the food and service were outstanding, and the staff obliging. We were made to feel very special.
