Breakfast was disappointing compared to the other hotels we stayed. The bar was closed every night by 9pm so we had to go out if we wanted a beer.

Lovely hotel perfectly located on the beach; nice pool, friendly staff, modern well equipped room. The property is ideally situated for surfers in between the Rock and Sticks. We had our best evening meal of the trip at Solas - freshly caught grilled tuna. Will stay here again.

The property is well appointed and very spacious. There was plenty of room in all the common places and a large beachfront garden, felt very private yet it had lots of things to do like daily yoga, and in-house certified surf coach and also some fitness classes you could participate in. The food was excellent and fresh. Overall the stay was fantastic as we could just surf in front of the property.

Located right on beach smack bang in the middle of 3 top surf spots, Solas offers one a chill surf and yoga with all the right luxury touches with great rooms, impeccable service and warm and caring hosts!

Everything was perfect

Solas Surf is an outstanding place to spend your holidays. We were there for three days and we wished we could have stayed longer. Beginning with the staff, so attentive, kind, helpful and skilled. Food is amazing, the chef has magnificent cooking abilities, always using fresh, well seasoned and balanced ingredients. Continuing with the facilities, simply amazing. Wonderful decoration and taste, large and highly comfortable rooms with everything you need. Finally, Anosha and Harin, the owners of Solas Surf. They are welcoming, always attentive and lead with example. They are on top of every detail. If we ever come back to Sri Lanka, we will make sure we find time to crash at Solas again! Thank you for everything!

Nothing really.

Everything was just perfect. This property is intimate with only 5 rooms but the actual space is big, plenty of garden, living, and relaxing areas. The beach is spectacular and the property has a large beach frontage compared to other places we have stayed in the south coast. The beach was still excellent even though it was low season. But to make everything great, they have an excellent menu and the quality of food was great especially vegan and seafood options. The staff are also well trained and attentive. The property is well maintained. Overall one of the best properties we have stayed in.

Great location right next to the beach. very cosy atmosphere. Just 5 rooms so you get a very homie feeling. The owners and staff is super lovely people. The food was great. They offer yoga twice a week and private surfing coaches.

there is nothing not to like

Solas Surf is everything someone traveling with his little family and a surfboard could ever wish for: A beautiful property with a lush garden and direct access to the beach. Several surf spots right at the doorstep, which are perfectly suited for intermediates (if you get up early and dodge the crowds). Excellent food, freshly prepared by a talented and skilled chef. All managed by probably the kindest and most attentive hosts you‘ll find on the southwest coast. During our short stay in March, Solas has already become one of our favorite places to stay, not only in Sri Lanka but overall. 🤙🏼

Everything was great!

We stayed for two weeks in Solas Surf and we had a really good time. The room was very nice and clean. The beach is directly in front of the place. Harin and his wife are very nice and helpful. We enjoyed every day and looking forward to coming back :)

I love so much the family atmosphere at the hotel. We regularly met with other guests during the breakfast, as there is a common table, that brought everyone together. Owners of the hotel are heartbreaking guys! they are very attentive, sensitive to each guest and friendly. Really quickly can manage all your desires, suggestions and potential problems. will help you to organise your leisure time and recommend some destinations. I really like that the clean, wide beach Kabalana is just near the hotel. Meanwhile, there is a wonderful garden before the beach with few comfortable sun beds with umbrellas. Also there is an opportunity to rent the surf board or to arrange a class with the instructor. Food are marvellous here, rice and curry and fresh mango are must tried dishes. The rooms are really comfortable, clean and well-furniture inside

Nothing we didn’t like!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Solas Surf and couldn't have been more impressed with the experience. The location was unbeatable, with easy access to the beach from the property. We spent most of our days lounging on the sandy shore and swimming in the crystal-clear water, and it was so convenient to be able to come and go from the villa as we pleased. The villa is located on Kabalana beach which is the best beach in Ahangama for surfers. But the real highlight of our stay was the kindness and hospitality of the hosts. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel welcome and at home. They were always available to answer any questions or offer recommendations for things to do in the area, and their warmth and generosity really made our vacation special. In addition to the great location and friendly hosts, we were also treated to some of the best meals in Srilanka. The hosts went out of their way to prepare meals that were tailored to our tastes, and everything was absolutely delicious. We especially enjoyed the local Srilankan dishes and the fresh fruits and vegetables that were grown locally. Overall, we had an incredible stay at Solas and would highly recommend the place to anyone visiting Srilanka.

Nothing really to complain about. We went with little expectation and were more than pleased with everything.

We loved our stay, the property is well maintained, the staff were attentive and great. The rooms were fresh and clean. The food was good and the menu had a good mix healthy items and reasonably priced (have to commend the chef). The beachfront garden was nice and we could just chill and enjoy getting into the sea or the pool. These guys seem to know what they are doing and have good facilities such as quality surf boards to rent. The beach in front of the villa is exceptional, soft sand and water nice and clean.

Bathroom could be updated, but was still totally nice, clean and fresh. There were some building works going on, but guessing those will be finished by now.

This space is very clean and has a great energy about it. Nice finishing touches in the room that made it feel comfortable and of high standard. Spacious with direct access to the beach, the beach is beautiful and quiet. Lovely for early morning and evening walks and great for surfing. The staff is really friendly, helpful and welcoming. They made me feel very comfortable. The food served was excellent, both breakfast and dinner. There were some cute places to check out walking distance and Ahangama centre is only about 7-8min tuk tuk ride away leaving lots to explore nearby. Really enjoyed my stay here and wished I had been able to stay longer but was travelling back.
