Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

ItalyWe had an amazing stay at the Riad with Khadijah, the owners and the staff taking care of us since the check-in. The whole Riad is peaceful and offers an extremely relaxing and quiet atmosphere, including the presence of the rooftop. Room was extremely clean (thanks to the staff for cleaning every day). Great breakfast by the pool. Location 2min walking from centre.

United KingdomFew issues with water in our room as in no water, not sure if to do with the current drought or separate issues. Workmen tried to resolve and ended up being moved rooms and although we had some water it was minimal but to be fair to our hosts they did there best with what was within their control.
There wasn’t anything to dislike about Dar Alif in all honesty. It was well situated, very well kept and clean, staff couldn’t be more helpful especially Khadija. Very quaint little pool, hidden little rooftops terrace and breakfast/food were exceptional. I will be back, have to take the wife there next time.

United States of AmericaI wish they door to the bedroom had a lock, but I felt safe regarding my belongings and there is a small safe in the room though not large enough for a laptop for example. It is hard to find and the Google maps is not the correct location, I advise to take the transfer and make sure you download maps.me and the Morocco map, this map has the correct location. And have several phone number of the riad available before arriving in Marrakech so make sure you don’t get lost.
Very helpful and generous hosts and kind staff. Felt very safe and almost like staying at a family’s home. Rooftop views are nice. Area is not too far on foot from central places to visit and the “place dès ferblantier” is very near and nice. They went out of their way to make my child feel special on his birthday, which was appreciated.

United KingdomIt is extremely tricky to find. If you decide not to take the transport offered by them (around double the taxi price of the hotel) please be advised you’ll struggle a bit. Google maps sends you to the wrong address. Download maps.me which is somewhat closer. If you get lost and ask the locals expect them to ask for a tip. By the time we found it we had an escort of two kids and a guy, which cost us around 70MAD, roughly making the overall trip the same as the initial transport price offered by the riad. Rooms are slightly small and bed is quite short for tall people (I’m 1.87m)
We had an amazing stay at Dar Alif. Staff is very friendly: Philippe, one of the owners, was very welcoming, he offered us tea and explained the key bits of information to navigate Marrakech. The rest of the staff were also nice to us. Khadija prepares a very nice breakfast. The night staff is also very polite and welcoming. Rooms are very clean. The building is beautiful and very typical. They also have a lovely terrace upstairs. Expect a 20min walk if you want to go to the center of the city. All in all walk is pleasant if you take the correct route.

United Kingdom-
We loved out stay in Marrakech. The Riad is located in the Medina and the neighbors are locals which gives more authenticity to the experience. We were greeted with the mint tea, a tourist map and lots of recommendations plus smiles. Uber (I hope I wrote the name correctly) and Mohammed were really nice and made sure we have everything we need. Khadija (the cleaning lady) kept our room in spotless condition and placed fresh roses in it. Khadija (chef) did everything in her powers to make sure our stay is perfect: ordered taxis from/to airport, recommended restaurants to eat/places to visit, cooked delicious breakfasts and always had a smile on when she was greeting us. It was the best birthday getaway and all is thanks to everyone from the Riad. I know the actual manager was traveling at the time of our visit but Khadija (chef) did her duties plus picked customers up and kept the Riad running as a manager so nothing is missed. She is a real gem and really made our trip as memorable as possible. We will be visiting her and Dar Alif again!

United KingdomUsually when we arrive at a new hotel its usual to get a complimentary bottle of water in the room especially after a long trip. Small point but it's a nice touch as most travellers won't drink tap water.
Simply what can i can say a lovely Riad in Central Marrakesh ! ... checked out several others and this the best. About 5 minutes from the Kings Palace and the main medina square about 15 minutes. Super clean and staff amazing and friendly..special thanks to the owner Phillipe who organised taxi pick up and booked us on 2x excursions which were brilliant. Id suggest taxi door to door transfer to the door too as tricky in the dark nite to find the door. Loved smiley and friendly chef Khadya and the night watchman tall guy super friendly. Breakfast was a simple and healthy affair with fresh fruits and breads and 2x nights we had full Traditional dinners honestly beautiful food..so tasty and made with love.Traditional decor is everywhere which we loved and a beautiful roof terrace. Spa is under maintenance at the time of our visit..a small hamman which is getting looked at. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. So lucky we chose there. Room service was daily including sheets. Combination of price + service = value for money in my opinion.

United States of AmericaOnly one experience we had at the riad was challenging. On the morning of our second day we found an infestation of mayflies in the bath adjoining or bedroom. They had apparently come from the shower. We left that morning for a scheduled tour. When we returned the riad staff had moved us to a different room which was similar to our first room, sans flies! Thanks much to Khadijah and Hubert, the very helpful and pleasant riad staff for taking care of the problem making our stay at Dar Alif memorable in the best ways.
Breakfast was included in our stay. It was continental style, well prepared with fresh baked goods, fresh juices and fruits from Khadijah, Chef du Cuisine and manager. She prepared a beautiful tangine for our dinner the day we arrived served with fresh baked bread and a tasty bottle of dry Rose’ du Maroc. The location of the riad was in the Mellah, the ancient Jewish quarter inside the walls of the Medina. It was centrally located to many of the sights I encourage one to see in Marrakech. It was a little intimidating to venture out into the narrow streets and alleys amid the ancient buildings making our way to city center. With encouragement and directions from our host Phillipe, we successfully navigated our way around the town, through the crowded souk streets and to the many astounding sights and sounds of the city.

United States of AmericaCan’t think of anything. It was a wonderful experience.
The owners, Isabelle and Phillipe were so friendly, pleasant and informative. Phillipe walked us out to the Medina the first and told us what we should be paying for our cabs which was helpful. Both Isabelle and Phillipe were there in the mornings and evenings. The food they served was delicious. On the way there, our flight got diverted ( in the middle of the night). We weren’t sure if our driver was going to be waiting for us once the plane turned around. ( scary thought for 2 women alone). We had booked a ride from the airport to the Riad ahead of time. . Our driver WAS there, waiting for us 2 hours after we were supposed have arrived. . We were SO grateful! This Riad is gorgeous!

GermanyThe glass doors meant we felt a bit exposed sound wise as our daughters have a bit of a volume control issue. Some features were usable when we were there (pool was being chlorinated, roof top was all covered over) but this may be more to do with the weather and the time of year we visited (early April - temperature was around 20 degrees).
Well located about 15/20 minute walk from the centre of the Medina, very convenient for the Bahia Palace we were able to get there for 9am when it opened (I really recommend this as it was very busy when we were leaving). The setting is beautiful.
