Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyThe place is quite old but some people might enjoy that vibe. Door lock felt like it would break anytime. Shower lacked a bit of pressure and hot water worked a bit weird. These are all small nuisances. Overall experience was good.
Very nice staff in the reception. Good breakfast with views of the city. Room was clean and well prepared.

United KingdomMy bed was an older hard mattress and not very soft. First day the shower took awhile to become hot but it got there in the end. Breakfast needs to change up ever so slightly by 4th day my stomach was doing cartwheels and didnt feel very good. Avoided the breakfast on the 5th day.

Some people might not like the quaint old-fashioned looks, but I genuinely loved it.

RomaniaThe breakfast was not the best point of the hotel, it has a good variety of foods but they were not as fresh as they should be. Also, the bathroom was not very tidy, but the advantage is that there is one in the room.
The location of the hotel is very good, inside the Valletta, near the Government of Malta and the Upper Brakka Gardens, from where you can see the Saluting Battery. Also is 2 minutes walk from the main street ( Republic Street) and the main atractions of the city. The main bus station of the city is just 4 minutes walk and also the Fast Ferry Gozo is 5-7 minutes walk. Near by there are many streets with restaurants.

The hotel is exceptionally well-located. The room had an excellent view of the square, river and historic buildings. The view from the breakfast area on top of the hotel was magnificent.

United KingdomOur room was right at end of the building where next door was construction for a new apartment block. Consruction work started at 6.30am. In addition it was facing g a main street and very noisy throughout the might as cars and trucks went by. Couldn't keep the window open at might as it was just too noisy.
Location is excellent. Walkable to all sights of interest In Valletta. Also convenient to buses and the ferry. Breakfast was good selection. There was hot and cold selection and the views from the breakfast room is fantastic! Rooms are adequately furnished, very spacious. Could do with a bit of renovation and sprucing up as it is a very old historical building and beautiful inside.

AustraliaThere were no tea making facilities in the room. The bed was a bit hard. There was no information for visitors about Malta in the hotel, though the map was quite useful.
Location and breakfast in the rooftop dining room were great. The hotel was attractive and the rooms and staff were pleasant.

United KingdomIt would be great if the breakfast room was open for drinks/snacks in the evening. That view would be incredible for sunset.
The location is absolutely brilliant. Couldn't be closer to Upper Barrakka, the perfect place to watch the sun set. For the rest of Valletta, you're just minutes walk away. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are a little dated, but are charming and impeccably clean and mine had a fantastic view out over the square. Breakfast was decent. View from the breakfast room is the real selling point though.

LatviaMy friends were in another room and saw a cocroach in the bathroom. Luckily I didn't have bugs in mine. Also, there was a rather strong smell from the disinfectants/cleaning solutions.
Location could not be better!:) Although the facilities are dated and worn, the house itself is beautiful, it really sets a tone!:)

GreeceThe bed was very soft for my standards and also I am not used to sleeping in a single bed so I thought it was a little small.
I really love the location it was right on the top of the hill in Valletta very close to the old university and medicine Street and the street with all the shops. Only 10 minutes walk down here to floriana taxi service near. The room was very clean and although it was small for a solo traveler it was very practical. The level of the noise was low the room has a bay window with the door and the curtain which means that it blocks all noise from the street below. The staff was very helpful and friendly and made you feel welcome. The breakfast is on the 5th floor which has an amazing view of Valetta and it was a joy to have breakfast outside. The breakfast buffet is a typical three star one. There are two elevators which is very good so that we're not delays and they were also quite fast.
