Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomMattresses could be swapped sooner rather than later
Lovely interior with a lot of space to feel at home. Little messages and flours to welcome us. Although it is located in one of the busiest and most photographed streets in Valletta, sound proofing does the job and you can still sleep. The breakfast is an exceptional with loads of selfbaked goods. Alex who served us on our first morning was great and very knowledgeable!

RomaniaAll was fantastic
First of all MALTA it's more beautiful than we can imagine. A perfect combination between the old style with many Romans, African and personal influences. In five days I didn't have time to be bored. Mdina Rabat, Comino Island with Blue Lagoon were my favorites. They know how to make the tourist relax by providing many facilities at low prices. The food is delicious starting with the many kinds of rabbit dishes which is traditional and cheap. The inhabitants give you a sense of peace through their authentic way of behaving. Malta is also accessible to tourists with a limited budget VALLETTA LUCENTE GUEST HOUSE combines the new with the old but also with the traditional in a unique and personal way. The accommodation conditions were beyond expectations. The hosts are very welcoming, assisting with discretion so that we have everything we need. This Guest House it has one of the best positions in Valletta, being located in the most beautiful area with the most popular restaurants and shops, close to the famous St. John's Cathedral. The breakfast is really fabulous and for all tastes. Every day someone discreetly cleans the room. Moreover, discretion is one of the qualities of this place On the ground floor there is also a small traditional art shop that belongs to the owners. From here you can buy a lot of things made by the hosts themselves. The hosts manage to make you feel indeed truly at home. I am overwhelmed by everything that Valletta Lucente Guest House and Malta have meant to me. Although the vacation is over, I can say that my heart is still there and I will definitely come back

United KingdomNothing, honestly a fantastic stay.
The location was fabulous! Really central to everything! Easy to find from the main Valletta bus station. And the staff were so unbelievably kind and thoughtful, even remembered it was our anniversary and made us little swan towels upon arrival. Would absolutely stay here again next time we come to Malta. The homemade breakfast was incredible, really authentic and delicious. The chef himself even remembered us each morning and what coffee we would order, little things like that made us feel really special and welcome.

United KingdomSpiral staircase in our room was a slight hindrance and if we have a return trip I would request a room at the rear of the hotel as the noise from the restaurants and bars in the street below is very noisy up to around eleven o’clock at night
Ideal location for the old town not far from bus and ferry terminal, all the staff are fantastic very friendly, courteous and helpful

United KingdomThe room was quirky and different to many rooms we have been in however, it was not very practical due to steps in the room and down to the toilet, it was easy to trip! The health and safety people in the UK would be shocked. The cupboard for clothes was inadequate as there was a lack of shelves so we ended living out of the suitcases. The bed was excellent as was the two terraces.
Location was great. Staff very good and helpful.

LuxembourgPoor beeakfast, and heavy noise during fests, Fridays and Saturdays until late at night. There are 2 stores with music just in front of the guesthouse and as room "Anne" has an old malteze balcony all noise enters the room. My advice to guests is to carefully check the fest-calender for Valette before booking "Anne". The guesthouse has rooms facing the building's atrium and definitely those are quiet.
Room "Anne" is a spacious room of 30m2 with living room and bedroom on top of the room. Bed is of very good quality. Bathroom is spacious too. Located at the very centre of touristic Valette.

United KingdomI'd say a little on the expensive side - we didn't feel short-changed, but it was more when we arrived than the price we were quoted and agreed to on booking.com
The location was fantastic, right in the heart of Valletta. Breakfast was fine - perhaps a little more choice would've been good. The room itself was great. If I'm being picky, the pillows and mattress were far too soft, but guess that's down to personal preference, and some more/different crockery in the room would've been good. The staff were all super friendly and helpful - unobtrusive but there when you needed them, and the hotel was spotlessly clean throughout.

O my god what is a room! The hotel is situated inside an 16 century palace and that really feels like a palace, at least in the room Layla on the top floor with not one but two gorgeous terraces. Or maybe even three, depending on how you count them - full of plants, in the middle of everything and still a private sanctuary for relaxation. The interior is an eclectic mix of contemporary design and vintage furniture. Spectacular is the word. There are some stairs and differences in levels in the room and in between the terraces so this is not for people with disabilities. Valletta Lucente Guest House is located in the middle of everything. It’s by no means quiet but vibrant and fun with nice bars and fantastic restaurants literally just steps away. Breakfast is really good, the staff is super friendly and this is going to be a stay to remember. Enjoy!
