The private pool wasn’t heated as needed and was fairly cold. The food in the restaurants for dinner was not very good, definitely not 5 stars. There were certain activities that were not available as advertised.

The property was clean and well maintained. The views were amazing. The staff were very helpful. Amal was absolutely great. He was quick to respond to any need we had. The spa was good. The villa we rented was very clean, private, and high end.

As returning guests, it was great to see our initial experience repeated. The room was very comfy yet spacious. Great housekeeping services. Impeccable pools. Nicely maintained surroundings. The absolute best about Shanti are the wonderful people working there. To Akshay, Manootra, Darshini, Vandana, Adisa, Christopher (I hope I didn't misspell the names) and all the others I could not name here: Thank you for your kindness, great service and all those little moments that really make a difference. My son suggested moving in for good. We had a great time again and highly recommend Shanti.

Amazing location and a really special place. Staff go out of their way to help and efforts are made to personalise the service. Our room was stylish and modern. The food was good, plenty of choice for the 4 days we spent there but may have got a bit limited if we had stayed for more than a week, however this was partly due to certain places being closed during our stay due to slightly poor weather. The (adult only) spa pool was really tranquil and lovely. The kids club was awesome and put our nerves about using a kids club for our 18 month old for the first time at ease. He had a great time and it was useful that they had space for naps if needed and that nappies and snacks were provided.

It is very costly to a level that I can’t justify. The cost of the room and food is too expensive. To make things harder, the hotel is located in what I may call a remote area with nothing that counts around you from alternative service perspective. Only small villages exist near the hotel with limited availability of supplies and restaurants. So, I had to rely on the hotel’s services.

Staff was amazing, especially Sheila from Stars restaurant and Christofer from the Beach. We liked also presence of general manager and his concern about guests. Gluten free options are available in all restaurants. Rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. Bed is extra large and super comfortable. La Kaze Mama restaurant is a little bit overpriced. It would be nice to have more yoga options as hotel is presented as yoga destination. We had a great time at Shanti Maurice and we will come back!!

Wonderful stay in Villa 216 for 6 days, we also had as a family 2 more rooms (103&105). Denish the butler always on hand and helpful trying to organise your day and evening, lovely Isaac at breakfast always welcoming us with a smile. Lovely waiters at dinner and Rum Shed and very helpful and attentive cleaning staff in our villa (apologies i forgot the names). Reading the reviews before we arrived i noted comments on drinks and mixing up bills etc. Yes there were some misunderstandings, we had one table booking mix up and the occasional drinks order, and everything was quickly resolved and team apologetic and on hand to assist and sort quickly, so i really wouldn't think that would be a big deal. The hotel is in a wonderful location, run by a very nice team of people and overall 5 stars from me.

Not the hotel's fault because it's nature, but we had a bit of an issue with pigeon dirt on our otherwise perfect balcony. Communication via booking.com was a bit patchy, so pick-up from the airport didn't work and we had to take a taxi, but no harm done.

The hotel is embedded in a beautiful large park which is well maintained. We loved the beach, the main pool, and the overall design of things. Great spa, enough spaces to find peace and serenity. Food was good and plenty, although on the more expensive side. The hotel offers many things for children, including the Kids Club (which we couldn't use) and the fish feeding ritual. My son loved it. I was impressed by the kindness of staff, especially Darshini, Luxmi, Preema, Dev, and Lawrence. From the front desk to housekeeping to spa and in the restaurant, they gave us the feeling of being at home. My son got sick after we arrived, and the hotel organised a medical doctor immediately. It is one of the best hotels I ever stayed in. We will be back soon.

The room size and cleanliness was very good. The staff were very helpful especially butler Amal who was very attentive at all times, even after his working hours. During our stay we only had our breakfast in the room, the food was better than expected and service was fast, we always received our order on time
