Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaMy only wish is the sold wine or beer in the reception office so you did have to go the town. My only other suggestion would be to have coffee/tea available for guests to make. Amazing stay, wish I could have stayed longer.
Absolutely stunning property the description and photos do not do justice to the beauty. I was a little apprehensive when I pulled up to the gate but as soon as it opened you are taken back in time. It was unbelievable that we were the only guest at the “castle” that night. We had the whole grounds and pool to ourselves. It was an unbelievable experience. The restaurant closes at 3 PM. Town is a few minutes away. I would recommend you bring a bottle of wine or your favorite beverage and stroll through the gorgeous grounds, soak in the stunning pool and spend a relaxing evening taking in the history of the area. This is not a resort where they wait on you at the pool but there is a reception area if you need any assistance, arrange transportation, recommendations, etc. In the morning, you stroll across the grounds to a beautiful restaurant where they provide authentic breakfast with several options. Great location for visiting near by ruins.

United States of AmericaThis was unequivocally the best Hacienda that we visited in Yucatan. The rooms were spacious and authentic. I felt like a princess there. The grounds were beautiful. There is a museum on site. The pool area is quaint.

United States of AmericaThe distance from Vallodalid is a little inconvenient since there is no dinner option at the hacienda, but it is easy to get to town if needed.
This is a beautiful site - meticulously maintained, with a lovely breakfast and room.

MexicoThe wifi is only accessible at reception. The main building is damp and a little scary at night, I felt I was in a Midsomer Murder! We arrived at 7 pm and there wasn’t any food available onsite so we had to drive to Valladolid. There is only breakfast and late lunch. It was expensive for what was on offer compared to other haciendas we stayed during our trip.
It was lovely to be on a hacienda a short drive from Valladolid. The staff were exceptional, so very kind and helpful. The villas were comfortable and the children enjoyed the pool. The food at the restaurant was limited but very tasty.

ColombiaHacienda Kaan Ac is a beautiful place to enjoy around Valladolid. It is a real hacienda with a lot of history and close to many places to visit. There is a variety of rooms you can choose from. The hacienda has a museum that shows you a bit of the history of Mexico during colonial times. There is even a book in Hacienda Kaan Ac, "El Filibustero" by Eligio Ancona. If you can visit the place I really advise you to go. On top of that, the breakfast is great!

ColombiaThe restaurant opens at 7am, we were there sharp for an early breakfast to go to Chichen Itzá. The staff arrived at 7.30 and attended us at 8am.
It was a beautiful, typical hacienda. We stayed in the independent, spacious villas. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They made an exception and served us a late dinner when we first arrived. My city mouse mother in low is in love with that place! 😃 Good location to go to the ruins and cenotes, if you have a car.

United States of AmericaNothing in particular. The bathrooms are a bit outdated but on the other hand if they were new you wouldn’t feel you are on an old hacienda.
The setting is so nice and romantic. The pool is really nice. Rooms look like old hacienda rooms, but they have nice air conditioning and ceiling fans.

United States of AmericaA truly unique property!!! The grounds of this historic hacienda are exquisite with a museum, restaurant, chapel and an incredible swimming pool! Located just a short 5 minute drive from the center of Valladolid. The property is gated and quite. The staff was very friendly and our two bedroom suite was very clean with everything we needed. I highly recommend this property.

United States of AmericaAfter our late check in we were completely alone aside from security on the property. With no phone in the room, and not another soul staying at the property for the night, we felt completely alone, for better or worse! One must guard their thoughts against notions of such a space being haunted! If you wish to be away from it all this is the place for you. If you wish to be pampered and attended to, chose another locale. :)
The house and grounds are both magnificent and tranquil! You truly get the sense that you are stepping back in time and the unfettered access to the entire house and grounds is amazing -- imagine exploring a 400 year old castle-like hacienda on your own through a music room, fully set dining rooms, spire stone stairways, and armor standing at attention over guns and hides of animal conquests on the walls. The whole house was open at night with the evening air passing through doors and windows with the evening air. (Air conditioning was available in our bedroom.) There is no paid breakfast and no food available on site after hours, however the paid breakfast was of reasonable cost and was both well prepared and attractively presented in a beautiful airy setting in the historic carriage house on the property. While we did not swim, the pool is beautiful with a base and statue at the center of it's garden-like setting. In the evening we drove a short 5-10 minute drive into the heart of Valladolid to eat supper and explore before returning and going to bed for the night. The beds were clean and comfortable. In the light of day we enjoyed walking around the grounds, exploring the chapel that sits apart from the main house and the garden-like setting of the expansive grounds. It's truly unlike any traditional hotel setting you will find. I would also have enjoyed information about the history of the property on site. We learned it was the home of a pirate, sometimes priest, and his wife and that they were killed when enemies came hunting for their gold (?), however we don't know where they died. There is apparently a historical account in Spanish. There is a statue in their likeness in the garden in the rear of the home.

United States of AmericaThe rooms could have been cleaner- a used contact lens was on the bedside table, a stray bobby pin on the floor. I would have liked glasses in the rooms, hair dryers and a lock box. Those are things that I expect in a high end hotel. They did bring us glasses when we said we had a bottle of wine and needed glasses. A continental breakfast was included of a little fruit, a little yogurt with a little granola and coffee. You could order eggs to supplement for an extra fee. Supposedly they opened at 8AM. They were there the first day but the second day when we needed to leave to catch a flight, there wasn't anyone there at 8:15 so we had to leave without any breakfast.
The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Loved hearing the birds in the morning. The museum in the castle was fun to walk through on the way to and from our rooms. Nice area around the pool for our group of 10 to gather.
