Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaPretty much nothing.
Easy check in, kind staff, really central, and overall good value for the area. Heads-up they require cash payment on site, will only hold with credit card.

CanadaI was charged 406 MXN pesos more than the price quoted by booking.com at the time of my reservation. The reservation states that you will pay cash at the property which is fine but the price should remain the same as the quote. The hotel showed me the confirmation they received from booking.com which included the commission charged. So in other words the hotel passed along to me the commission they should be paying to use the booking.com platform. I complained to booking.com and they just “passed the buck” so no-one took responsibility. I’ve never had this happen before and I’ve paid cash at lots of places.
Decent sized private room, very clean with comfortable beds (daily housekeeping was a bonus). The shared kitchen is very clean, well organized and has everything you need to make almost any kind of meal. The terrace is a great place to hang out and relax- usually a cool breeze blowing through. Great location, within walking distance to 2 beaches.

United States of AmericaNothing could have been better. It is perfect - just as is.
Maribel Torres - the owner/operator of Hostel Azul y Blanco - is just wonderful. Very friendly and very helpful...! The hostel (itself) was certainly one-of the-cleanest and best-maintained places I have *ever* stayed at (anywhere in the world). I *highly recommend* this place - and, I am already looking forward to my next-stay there...!

I didn't expect that much from a hostel we just needed something basic to stay and booked a private room. All we need is a clean bed, bedroom and bathroom, and a good wifi. Easy access to many other businesses. A good pressure of shower which is usually a bit problem in Huatulco.

CanadaThis was one of the best hostals I have stayed in. Great location close to center of Crececito and about a 15 minute walk via the Tourist Corridor to Santa Cruz beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful and there was a good size, well equipped kitchen. The dorm I stayed in was spacious with good showers and fans as well as air conditioning during the night. Also, a large terrance with lines to hang washed clothes or wet bathing suits.

CanadaThe AC goes on in the dorm at either 8 or 9 pm and is shut off at either 5 or 6 am. There was no relief from the heat during the day and no really comfortable place to sit during the day.
I liked that it’s in the town of La Crucecita with lots close by. The staff was excellent! The communal kitchen is well stocked and very clean.

MexicoThe place has potential to be more fun, like a roof with drinks or music and still be a place for rest on the night.
I like the staff, they are very nice and they help you in any way they can. They offer locks so you can put your important stuff like chargers, keys, electronic devices inside the locker.

Pretty good location -- close enough to everything you'd want to do. The staff don't speak English, but they're so kind and will help you to the best of their ability. Beds are decent and the place is kept super clean. I have been travelling South America for 4 months and I definitely found this to be the most social (but not party) hostel I visited during my trip. Everyone was so so friendly and I made a lot of friends.

CanadaThe only thing that could be improved upon with the private room would be a bedside light so that you don’t always have to use the harsh ceiling light in the evenings. The dorm room only has 1 toilet for everyone in the room. The sheets are changed daily which most people would like but I personally think is unnecessary and a waste of water. The cleaning lady leaves an envelope in the private rooms asking for tips which made me feel uncomfortable. I have stayed in hostels and hotels all over the world and have never experienced this before.
The location was awesome in a central area with lots of stores and restaurants nearby and only about a 15 minute walk to Santa Cruz and a 20 minute walk from the ADO station. The woman working at reception is very friendly, ready to help/answer questions and was patient with me as I speak almost no Spanish. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need and they have drinking water available as well as coffee in the mornings. There is a really nice area to hangout on the terrace with comfy chairs and hammocks. The wifi worked well enough with three different ones to use, each of them seemed to work better on a specific floor. I stayed in both a private room and the dorm room when I was there. I liked how clean both were. The private room was comfy with air con, a fan, comfy bed and soap/towel provided. The dorm room had comfortable beds, lockers and air con/fans that were on at night.
