This was an excellent area right on the lagoon. They staff was excellent very friendly and helpful. I got to meet the owner he was very gracious and his cousin the manager was very cordial and informative and very helpful. I will be back for sure.

Restaurant non existent, airport shuttle not existent, taxi only. Toilet tank was broken, had to remove tank lid and pull flapper up instead. Bathroom sewage smell on arrival and throughout, internet wifi kept going on and off. TV was broken. Only fuzzy black and white picture on the screen. Upper ppol not heated Far walking distance to restaurants and bank machine

It was a little bit of a let down that the restaurant wasn’t open. It that was literally the only down side to the place.

Location was great, quiet and clean. Staff treated us exceptionally. Water was exactly what we were looking for.

Although it's in a beautiful spot the hotel isn't within walking distance of the town so if you aren't driving you will have to taxi everywhere. There is a restaurant on site, but apparently its not connected with the hotel in any way & the Reception staff/manager didn't have any idea of it's opening times. On my last evening I didn't feel like going into town to eat but had to as the restaurant didn't open at all. There is no real breakfast service but coffee & toast is included in the booking, however I wasn't told about this until my second day. Buy snacks, drinks, water etc in town as there is absolutely nowhere on site to get these. Also be aware if you have mobility issues that there are a lot of steps down to the dock! Overall it was a perfect spot, just needs a little care & attention and better information given by reception/manager.

My room was right on the deck which was wonderful, I could watch the sun coming up in the mornings. Nice & clean & a very comfortable bed. The location right on the lagoon is fantastic - it's peaceful & beautiful for a few days to chill out, there's also paddleboards, kayaks & a small pool available. It was nice to have sunloungers on the deck, although they were wooden & not very comfortable- cushions would be a good idea! The dock area was lit at night which made it lovely to sit outside at night, or have a late swim!

No hot water while we were there (it was New Year’s Eve, though, so it would be difficult to find someone to fix it), some oddities with the room, but we were able to work around them!

We had a car, so the location worked great! It’s a beautiful location. We booked an apartment with a view and it was great. The restaurant on-site was reasonable.

- when we arrived and were shown in, the apartment smelt horrible! Mould and damp. We arrived late in the day so only complained in the morning. We were promised cleaners would come in when we went out, which they did. This helped but it still really smelt. We used a lot of incense over 3 days! The property smelt a bit better over days of our using it from being aired. - there was mould in the coffee machine AND on the stove. The cushions on sofa were mouldy. The table was dirty, I’m not sure how the cleaners had missed all this. It felt like the apartment had not been used for long time. - the bed linen was stained - there was very very little kitchen equipment. No spoons, no cleaning equipment, only 3 bowls for 4 people, 3 pans (Inc. a tiny one) and 1 kitchen knife. Was very poor. - there was not enough hot water to use the jacuzzi, not even close. We had a cool tub one night…there was rarely even hot water in the shower - not that it mattered as was hot and humid anyway during our stay - we did not use the pool but it seemed very tired - none of this would matter that much but for that we paid £250 GBP per night! that’s about 5000MXP which is a lot more than any other location we have stayed in.

- The location is amazing, with the balcony for our apartment straight over the water facing East. Sunrise was amazing! The water so blue and full of fish. I twice saw a Box Turtle from the balcony, amazing! - the family apartment is large with separate kitchen. - the free use of kayaks and paddle boards (for 1hr officially per day) with a nice dock area - the staff were very friendly and seemed to do their best to help when asked - there is parking onsite - the beds are comfortable. - there is air conditioning and very good thick curtains, though the AC did seem to make the room smell. - there is a restaurant onsite which we did not use but seemed nice and brought life to the place

Very noisy at night with the traffic. The site is at a distance from town and restaurants but that is what we wanted. That said, the hotel restaurant wasn’t opened and we were counting on it. The bathroom was way too small! And the place needs a little bit of TLC.

Being by the water and access to kayak and paddle board. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Thank you!

The accommodation is very basic but is adequate. There are ALOT of mosquitoes so make sure to bring repellant.

The location is ideal. Little bit further away from the main town but this is a good thing. You would ideally need a car to stay here. The staff are really nice and helpful. The restaurant on site is delicious. The lake is beautiful and the free rental of SUP boards and kayaks is brilliant. We had the most amazing stay here, thank you.

I didn't like the stairs are too many and too elevated for someone with knee problems, or poor balance! The room needs at least 2 chairs to seat on it! The bathroom didn't have running water properly it was just dropping, little water pressure on it! The shower was very small and the water didn't drain properly!

The location is perfect if you have car, it's in Front of the lake yes! But if you have knee problems then it's not so--- nice. It's too-many stairs to climb on it! Not to mention how dangerous it could be for someone with poor balance!

We had a fantastic stay, a very quiet, homely place with excellent staff who were friendly and gave us lots of help and recommendations when we asked. Guillerimo and Romero were fantastic. The lagoon is pristine and we spent every night enjoying The atmosphere down on the private dock.

The overall condition of the buildings is not very good, lack of maintenance and too small the room. The outdoor lying furniture needs some cushion to be more confortable.

The room at the edge of the lagoon was great on this respect. The restaurant is good and the personnel very kind and easygoing

Needing to take a taxi into Bacalar an back. No restaurants close by. Wish could have used the outdoor kitchen there. Providing a kettle for coffee or tea would have been appreciated.

Locaction on the lagoon. Dock and sitting area there wonderful. Nice room. Staff really great. Super helpful. Appreciated the coffee and toast in the morning.

We stayed in the leftmost room which had a partial sea view through the entrance door on the ground floor. Whilst fantastic for accessing the patio, the room smelled moldy and it felt like a basement accommodation. Water pressure was really low too.

Our room wasn’t the cleanest when we arrived, there were lipstick stains on the glasses (left on the drying rack in a mess) and a few comfort things we couldn’t find like filters for the coffee machine. It’s worth noting that it’s a short drive into town so best to have a car. But again, for the price and peace this place was wonderful.

Amazing property right on the lake with only a few rooms which made for a quiet stay. We had an amazing view out our door to watch the sunrise and the room was large so accomodating for our small group and very well priced for the area.

Original room was very dark, damp and stinky. We were upgraded to a better room which was great but only to find out after our stay that the owner insisted on more money.

Location on the shore of lake was great and about a nice 20 minute walk to town.

Bathroom was very old, you could see signs of mold on the ceiling and the smell was bad. Little amenities around... Just one restaurant and small shop about 10mins walk on a busy road. Lots of mosquitos
