Very basic hostel, nothing special, could be much better with little to no effort

There was only one elevator working, the other one was out of order (didn't know how long it happened). I have to walk thru 4 doors (2 with lock) and a very long hallway before reaching my room. After checked in I was told to pick up pillow case, bed sheet, dovet cover & a towel per guest, that means we have to make our own bed and also to return them when we check out. Depost of NOK200 is required when borrowing the cooking utensils, they charged my credit card at spot and refund it when I return the utensils, this resulted that I lost some money due to exchange difference (they should do it as pre-authorized/guaranteed payment and do not actually charge it until the day of check out).

Location is the main reason for my picking this hostel, just take a tram in front of the central train station and arrive in a few minutes. Supermarket is just at the corner, and more eateries can be found if you go further 300M.

Charging points could be better located. Also the mattress was overly used as it was too soft and caved in.

I didn't like that there are very few plugs in the room so be prepared to have a fully charged power bank. Also there's not really any chilling area - super small and does not propel to start conversations.

I liked the location, very easy access to anywhere in Oslo and I liked the facilities on the room: the shower pressure is great and there's a mini fridge and kitchenette with a table in the room.

The bad part is that the room is not big enough and stuff there seem to be old and kind of rusty, however is not something super bad, is just ok

The hotel is well located in Oslo, however is a Hostel so don't expect too much of it, I however enjoyed to stay there since it was centric.

There is no socket next to the bed. If you sleep on the top bunk, you can only charge your phone from the socket next to the bed below.

No shampoo or body wash provided. No social events. Also at night you need to be careful when walking around but there are police patrolling so its not really a big deal.

Its close to oslo main station. If your not carrying a lot of luggage you can just walk around 10-15 mins. Everything is just walkable and access to supermarkets, bars and clubs. I definitely enjoyed my stay in anker.

the roommates were terrible, they have no idea what cleanliness is and how to clean up after themselves. although the hostel has nothing to do with it, it still spoiled the impression a little

A good hostel with a great location, all the most interesting places are within walking distance. Friendly helpful staff, clean territory and rooms, more or less comfortable rooms.

Had to walk through a little bit of a rougher part of the city to get there - could feel a little unsafe. Bit weird to have a kitchenette in the rooms - mostly because of the smell. Not much of a vibe to the hostel overall - no socialising or events organised by hostel.

Not too far walk from the main station, easy check in process. The staff were nice but not memorable. Bed and bathroom were comfortable enough and was good to have a towel included.

We had a private room, I found the shower a bit uncomfortable since the water can go all around the bathroom. You can hear everything happening around the room.

The drain under the toilet for the shower was not very well placed, and the shower curtain isn't long enough, so the water gets everywhere. Didn't have other soup to use the shower, only hand soap.

It was reasonable, priced, clean, and lots of space in the room. Really like that we can get in and out whenever we wanted, even if it was late.

There was no charging socket on each bed especially mine with weak WiFi.

It's in a nice location, easy to get around, well maintained, quiet and clean.

There was a roof top terrace but it was open and the staff wouldn't open it despite asking twice and it being sunny. There was an issue with the keys meaning we were locked out of our room but the staff were helpful and it was resolved, it was just annoying.

The hostel was in a really good location to get around oslo, lots of bats and eateries close by. It was also very quiet and was not noisy.
