Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The "view" from my room was just facing other rooms, and the lobby. The restaurant wasn't open, and the bar, which did serve food, seemed a bit understaffed as waiting times were long.
The breakfast was good, and the room was nice and spacious. The hotel itself was very easy to get to from the airport.

It wasn't possible to adjust the heating in the room. As we thought the bathroom was a bit cold and the main room a bit warm at night, so it would have been good to be able to increase and lower the temperature.
Very good and varied breakfast buffet, modern room with splendid view over the city, central location with attractions, shops, cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Next time we visit Bergen we may choose to stay at Scandic Ørnen again.

I didn't like the keycard system of the elevators, the way to my room and back at the elevator was rather long or confusing and there were old stains on the covers of the chairs that could easily have been removed.
I liked the perfect location, the modern look of the hotel inside out, the amazing breakfast, the cleaningness of the place.

Would be nice to have conditioner and body cream. More comfy bed would be better
Close to bus and train station, a shopping mall and supermarket nearby. Town center is walking distance 10 minutes. You can get the light rail line 1 it takes about 30 minutes directly from airport to hotel (you can buy 90 minutes adult light rail ticket cost nok 40), cheaper than the bus.

No criticism.
Complimentary tea, coffee and cakes on arrival. We were upgraded to a suite with a balcony on 8th floor which was absolutely lovely. Had our evening meal in the restaurant on the 13th floor. The meal was expensive but very high quality and the service was impeccable.

Took a bit longer than normal to check in, the wait was a bit long.. same with checkout, no key drop available to drop the key on departure. The underfloor heating in the bathroom was a bit hit and miss. Had to pay a small fee for an umbrella
Hotel was well located, walking distance from town, close to public transport and shops. Had a great view from our room. The bed was super comfy and the shower was hot and there was good pressure. Breakfast was amazing. Room was not noisy

The location is perfect, 10min walk from the city center and right in front of the Bybaan and bus station. Personeel is great and helpful and the facilities, rooms, restaurant and breakfast are spotless.

I thought coming out of the lifts for me was terrifying I am frightened of heights also from a safety aspect I thought a low glass partition/balcony very very dangerous!

Our room had an internal view which overlooked the buffet restaurant which I didn't like very much especially as we were only on the floor above it.
In a good location for visiting Bergen - it was within easy walking distance of everything we wanted to see. It has no parking garage but there is good, secure public parking just across the street. Staff were friendly. They provide a good buffet breakfast with several vegan options. It's a modern, clean hotel. Our first time staying in a Scandic hotel but I would definitely look at their hotels on my next trip.
