Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Such a lovely clean quiet place to stay. Amazing views and I really enjoyed the animals. Our hosts were so helpful and friendly but at the same time really respected our privacy. Fantastic we have booked to stay again.

Lovely spot, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Nice and clean and close to town, highlights were definitely the friendly animals and the hosts were amazing. Would definitely stay again. 10/10 would recommend 😊

Beautiful, peaceful farm location, very cozy cabin with everything we needed. A perfect place to play cards, eat good cheese and drink great wine. Excellent out door seating options on the deck, too.

Nothing - everything was perfect.
Great location for a country style retreat yet very close to town. Gorgeous outlook (we had unit 2) Beautiful horses on the property and Sam the cat came and cuddled up with us on the evenings. Loved that there was a hotplate so that we could cook our eggs for breakfast. Spotlessly clean and great facilities.

Our cottage shower was over the spa bath, not so easy as you get older. They did, however, have a hand rail and rubber mat for base of bath.
The cottage was lovely. The owner was very friendly. Loved the surroundings from our breakfast bar we could watch the pony and shetland pony in the field.

Beds are a little small! 🤣 but very comfortable.
What a piece of paradise! Don’t need to leave, with BBQs and great facilities, really feel like you are on holiday! Fantastic host, and so easy to get to surrounding places from here.

Would be great to have a separate bedroom to the living area.
Wonderful Host, friendly and very welcoming. Lovely property with amazing animals! Great outlook from accommodation and superb location. All the amenities you could want and the pool is fantastic! Also the little extras like the free range eggs were a nice touch!

Literally the first (or last) property in Carterton, thus at the edge of town and hence very quiet. Lovely grounds, beautiful view over pastures to the hills in the distance. Spacious apartment, comfortable and with everything you need. We would have liked to stay longer!

Would have loved a pack of cards as we forgot ours but had fun with the dominoes!
The property sits on a beautiful farm surrounded by cows and horses and beautiful countryside. The unit was perfect for the two of us and well equipped with glasses and cooking equipment, so we could have comfortably stayed longer. We enjoyed the cool pool followed by a hot spa bath and barbecue. Catherine was a lovely welcoming host who left us to our own devices after settling us in.

A washing machine would be nice for longer stays. Other than that, it had everything you'd need for a stay for up to a week. The door to the bathroom had a lot of clear glass. There's a curtain you can draw across for privacy, but we would have liked a less see through bathroom door.
Very clean comfortable cottage. Adequate size, well equipped for a reasonable length stay with most things you'd need. The spa bath was nice. In terms of location, it was only a short drive to any of the towns in the Wairarapa so a good central location to use as a base to explore the area.

The entrance deck was slippery For the price I anticipated some personal touches eg. a few homemade biscuits, some herbal tea options, a few lemons in a bowl, some cut foliage in a vase... we found the bed small and the covers heavy and synthetic feeling. I didn't like not having options like a wool and/or cotton blankets to mix and match for comfort levles
The peacefulness, privacy and outlook of the location. Lovely to see beautiful horses too. The studio was spacious and fresh. Our host was warm, attentive without being intrusive. Was an ideal space being so close to both Carterton and Greytown Very much appreciated being able to bring our dog Thank you.
