Great location with on site bar, restaurant, winery and pool. Golf course looked in super condition. The Lodge rooms are very spacious with wonderful views over the golf course and coastline.

We are not golfers but this is set within a golf course. We knew this, of course, in advance. Restaurant good but over priced. Swimming pool could be smartened up.

Unfortunately, there was a problem with the water supply. On all 3 days, slightly brownish water came out of the taps.

The only downside to my room was that both the large windows look out onto the walkways and so I tended to keep the curtains closed when in. Next time I'll pick a sea view :).

I had a great couple of days at the Carrington estate. The staff were friendly and helpful - and even sent me my Kindle back after I forgot it! The private beach was a bonus I didn't expect. I also visited the adjacent vineyard for wine tasting which was a nice experience with equally hospitable people! The restaurant had great views and great food!

The facilities are not in the best condition, the pool is very dirty, and the tennis courts are poorly maintained. It seems they should take these issues into consideration, especially given the cost compared to the services they provide. Lastly, for a 5-star hotel, we were surprised that no one asked about our experience, a feedback about our stay.

Overall, our stay was very good; the location of the place is spectacular, a very peaceful spot to relax

Unfortunately we didnt have a view which was disappointing. The weather wasnt at all good, extremely windy and cold, which was also not so good but everything else was lovely

Brown water but was not the fault of the estate, but they could of given us more water bottles. Food was cold when delivered to room by room service. Coffee was unbelievably strong and had to be taken back to make a new one.

Views, location, golf,food,room and pool table. One of the maid's was very nice and helpful, giving us extra water.

Water had high iron, and it was coloured brown. Only 2 bottles of clean water provided and everytime had to get a new one from reception. Also the gym was getting repaired so couldn't use it.

We had tried to book golf lessons on the day that we were staying but were told their golf instructor was on annual leave so this was somewhat disappointing. In the restaurant we were told that they were short staffed one night and that did not bother us in the slightest. The following night however we tried to eat in the bar area as the menu was different and we wanted to eat from a different menu than the restaurant. The young male staff member at the bar told us that they weren’t serving food (although they were still serving drinks against the rules of NZ liquor license) and had rather intoxicated patrons when we entered. When we went back in to the restaurant, we asked about the bar menu and we were told a flat no from another young staff member, seemingly not wanting to try and help us. We asked the manager chef and they had no problem helping us. He was very accommodating and made great food. Overall some great staff being let down by younger inexperienced ones.

Luxury stay on Karikari Peninsula, a great location for Karikari beaches which are some of the most beautiful in NZ. Rooms were spacious and clean. Pool area was nice with smaller heated pool alongside it.

The property including the grounds need a update, looking tired would expect this especially from a high end property and the grounds and pool area need to reflect the sam standard as the golf course.
