Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyOur unit contained a dryer but no washing machine, which we found a bit strange. A bigger mirror in the bathroom (in front of the sink) would be really nice. And a little tip: you should definitely do your grocery shopping elsewhere!
We booked the accommodation in order to hike the Tongariro Crossing as easily as possible and were not disappointed. The shuttle runs not far from the accommodation, making it easy to get an early start to the day. The accommodation contains everything you need to self-cater, plus a very spacious shower!

AustraliaThe beds weren't firm enough for me and the shower and bath had rather low water pressure. After long day walks it would have been great to have a good shower and firm bed. There was also a lot of road noise from the highway right outside the house. If you are a light sleeper take some ear plugs as large trucks use this highway throughout the night.
The self catered kitchen was very good. If you plan to cook it is a good idea to bring your own cooking oil. The wood heater was a cosy addition to the heat pump. The view two the mountains was also excellent.

New ZealandLoved everything, but getting the instructions for apartment location and lockedbox code was delayed. This was likely because we booked on the same day as check in and am guessing booking.com delayed the information being sent an long as we received the notification with the information a day after we checked out. Nevertheless, when we arrived, we were helped out when we approached the mainhouse. They were lovely and very helpful.
Incredible location with stunning views from the property. The unit/apartment was clean and new. Beds were very comfortable. The shower was great. We had a washing machine and dryer which wss great after travelling a couple of days with a baby and 5yr old. It was great for our little family. Would definitely go back again and be happy to stay for longer than a night.

New ZealandThere is nothing to complain about. Some people may be bothered by the property's proximity to the main through road (SH4) and the occasional passing of a heavy vehicle that causes a wee rumble, but it did not affect our enjoyment of the property at all. An on-site spa pool, or access to a local spa pool, would have been perfect. We would be very happy to return here for our next break in the National Park. ..
Great host, who welcomed us on our arrival. The accommodation was great for our group, private, spacious, with excellent facilities, all essentials provided, fully equipped kitchen and laundry, and very comfortable beds and lounge area. Clean and quite new bathroom facilities. On-site, at the door parking. Big TV. We enjoyed the real fire at the end of a long day hiking and the convenience of the heat pump in the cold morning. The property is in a very convenient location for exploring all that the National Park has to offer, with an unobstructed view of Tongariro, Ngauruhoe, and Ruapehu from the lounge and one bedroom. One of the shuttle pick-up/ drop-off points is just across the road. There's a lovely little bar/restaurant at a local hotel within easy walking distance. Half an hour drive to Ohakune Village, and about the same distance to Tokaanu hot pools.

AustraliaJust a note that the plug sockets are not close to the head of the bed, so harder to charge phone and use as alarm (though there is an extension cable used for the light which can be unplugged and used).
This apartment is perfectly located in the National Park village, which was perfect for us having just finished the Tongariro Crossing. The rooms were well equipped, and the sizeable, powerful shower was just what we needed after a hard day's hiking. We also met the owner, who was lovely and had no issues with the fact that our booking had changed from 1 to 2 people, other than being concerned that he hadn't known to be able to leave us enough towels. A wonderful stay and excellent value for money.

New ZealandThis is more suggestions. Get a TV in the room. The Window in the shower let me feel exposed when showering at night. Change the bedrooms and bathroom doors to sliding doors. It will give more space and be more practical. Else we enjoyed the stay.
The location is very good. With all the small things which could be changed to make the stay even more pleasant, we had a great break away.

New ZealandThe bathroom was very cold, as the heater wasn’t working and was out in the other room, where the heat pump and fire didn’t heat. I would recommend fixing the heater and getting small heaters for the bedrooms. I also thought the beds weren’t that comfortable.
The house was nice and clean and definitely big enough for a family of 4. The fire was a good bonus and heated the house well.
