I have experienced first hand why this property is highly rated. The lodge is exactly as advertised and more! Loved the bath, the breakfast, the quiet, and most of all Qi’s excellent service - like offering food and driving me to the salon! Ask for the corner unit when booking. ;)

The owner, Qi, is so helpful and friendly, super fast communication, which takes away any anxiety or worry. And the place is just so clean!! You don't need to look to see if it's clean, it just so obviously ....is.

We can't really fault our stay at all. Everything about it was great.

We stayed for 2 nights and both breakfasts were excellent. The location was perfect for us and we enjoyed the bushy surrounds and the sound of the native birds in the morning. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back.

There is nothing I don't like

I have stayed here a couple of times now, for business. Love how quiet and spacious it is. Breakfast is always very good and the little extras are what makes Echo Lodge that bit better than other accommodation that I've stayed at. Qi..who runs it, is absolutely lovely..nothing is too much trouble. I will continue to stay there.

Although there were hangers and coat stand provided, a cupboard in the room would have been better.

The host Qi sun was quite caring and tried her best to comfort the guests. I had special dietary requirements and she happily catered for it. Due to my early morning hours check in in, she made sure that check in was smooth and sent me videos where and how to come inside the property, even showing the exact location of my room. Room was nice and views were fabulous. Will definitely stay there again.

It is a personal preference, but the bed was too hard for my back. But the pillows and duvet were very comfortable.

Echo Lodge and our host were amazing. It is a beautiful setting and every detail works. Room were well appointed and very clean. I loved the common area with high ceilings and the view; it felt like home and could have stayed easily longer. Breakfast was a delicious surprise, with a few additional treats. I will absolutely return for another visit. The added tooth brushes showed the owner's commitment to great service. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The only issue my partner and I had, the walls were very thin. We could hear other people in the corridor and in other rooms really easily. I do not know how this could be solved... Sound proofing perhaps? But the walls were thin. We could hear a lot from outside the room and we are confident they could hear us too.

The staff - SUPERB! The view - gorgeous. Was a quiet and very beautiful location.

The hotel is 20 minutes drive from downtown, but we knew about it. You must use a car to get there or the nearest restaurants.

Great host, great breakfast, clean, good shower. The location is very quiet on a mountain overlooking a great view.

This stay was absolutely so amazing. Qi was an amazing host and so kind and friendly. We had breakfast included and the breakfast was so amazing every day. The location was perfect and the views from the dining room while eating breakfast were lovely. I genuinely have nothing bad to say about my stay, the room was great and we loved the slippers they gave us!! We also loved sitting out on our little patio area overlooking the garden right out the sliding door in our room. Just an amazing stay and I will definitely recommend others to stay here when they come to Auckland!!!

No negatives loved everything.

Great room with very good bathroom and great views from large verandah. Comfy bed. Spacious shared lounge and dining areas. Excellent breakfast. Off street convenient parking.
