Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

One toilet in the bathroom was a bit of a problem A Separate toilet would have made the stay much better. Extra cost for children made it not such good value.

Just a couple of areas could've used a clean. Some other people's scraps had been left in bedroom drawers. Other than that ALL GOOD! Owner lovely. Book it!!!
Such a great feeling in this villa. Spacious rooms, easy parking, full kitchen. Bonus to be able to park on-site and lock driveway gates behind us.

Yes, we got there half an hour early (2.30pm), but they had only just arrived, and were starting to clean! Friendly enough, but, to be honest, we just wanted to get in and have a rest. (they had excuses for why, but lets be honest, at that time of the day, it should have been ready to enter). They said they had been having problems with towels that got so dirty, they were throwing them away, so left us lots of paper-towels, and only hand towels in the bathroom!!! I suggest they learn to use a decent company to wash towels! Real shame, as the accommodation itself was great.
Absolutely awesome property, great location for what we required. Very quiet, and fantastic value for money. Just 3 of us, and was still excellent value, not taking into account, it could probably cater for 10+ people at this cost, thought it was unbelievable.

I think it should be mentioned that someone lives in the attached part of the house. Not so clean behind beds.

This home is big and spacious, and very warm. It was Ideal for our family group. Initially we were looking for motel rooms x3 but this worked out much cheaper and provided everything we needed. The host contacted me straight away and was very friendly and welcoming.

Location was walking distance from the train station which suited our group well getting into Wellington and back. The house well set up and clean. The beds were well made and had nice sheets. Modern kitchen and bathroom plenty of room. Was just like a second home. Very pleased with our stay here.

No negatives from our perspective throughout this trip.
Awesome location, literally 15 minutes walk from Queensgate's Mall. Great facilities and comfortable beds with enough space in between for everyone to have their own space. And the armchairs were definitely a win for our older guests, lol.

The lock box for the keys was quite hard to use.
Location was great, we walked to the train station and in to town for breakfast. It had enough beds for everyone .

The wifi was rather slow. The house could benefit from a really thorough clean. Road is quite busy and it's difficult to back the car into the driveway, or back out, during peak hours. Single glazed windows in the front bedroom made it slightly noisy at night when a loud car or merry people travelled past.
Lovely and roomy bungalow on a well-fenced, secure section with a neat tree house for the kids to play in. The location was great - 500 m to Waterloo train station and 700 m to Queensgate Mall (huge mall). Nice quality bedding. Great comfy couch and armchairs in the lounge. Heat pump nice and powerful on chilly mornings. Free feijoas from the tree outside! Host supplied laundry liquid which was appreciated. Great bathroom (there were bottles of shower gel in the shower - not sure if that was intentional by the host or if they were left behind by a previous guest but it was appreciated anyway). House has an endless supply of hot water. The kitchen was so well set up that it was easy to make a full meal for the family. I liked the covered patio so i could put the clothes airer outside to dry the washing while it was raining.

Unfortunately the toilet is in the bathroom (you can't change that!) but for a larger group it means some waiting.
