Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe only hitch was the size of the bicycles, with their flat tyres! No pump , so we had to take them to the bike shop. Sorted, then spent a rather uncomfortable couple of hours riding round the wine tasting circuit. We are tall adults, and the bikes are more suited to a teenager and a small adult. This is information for future guests, and not as a criticism!
Almost everything! All requirements catered for. So well equipped and breakfast provisions were available. It was a last minute booking and we feel lucky to have experienced such a beautiful house. Comfy bed, good linens and towels, excellent shower, and so spacious throughout, with very tasteful furniture and fittings.

Accommodation was great, Was very appreciative of the wine and chocs too. We did use the sofa bed as a third bed instead of single bed due to one lady not being a good sleeper

New ZealandIt would have been good to know about the extra foam mattress for use on the fold-out bed as the fold-out wasn't that comfortable.
Great location. Good facilities for a family group. Great communication from owners.

New ZealandWe were here in the middle of winter and it was cold. The house took a long time to warm up and the ventilation isn't great in the winter.
Great location. Big house with roomy bedrooms. Good amount of space and the kitchen was well appointed.

New ZealandLoved the fireplace but had trouble on the 2nd night to get it going. Weather was bad and the shed with the wood was too far away and very muddy to get to it.
The house and where it is situated. Breakfast things were great, but there was no salt only pepper.

United KingdomLovely house in a good location. Lots of space and facilities. Really nice of the hosts to provide all the extras (breakfast items, chocs, chilled water, wine etc). Loved sitting in the garden in the late afternoon. Some cellar doors within walking distance (recommend Margrain), and Martinborough brewery - which is only a couple of streets away. Comfy bed and good shower. We plan to return!

United States of AmericaI always like the option for a softer pillow but NBD. An umbrella for the picnic table at the back garden a good idea in the heat.
Breakfast supplies appropriate and generous. Appreciated the local wine, eggs and butter and would have liked some coffee pods for the machine. Great to be left a loaf of bread rather than counted out slices.

New ZealandThe approach in the driveway has a raise of concrete then dirt, dirt is ok but as it has had normal wear and tear, the middle between the tyres is raised, as we go there to attend cruise martinbough it is tough on the bottom of the car. If the concrete was grounded down a bit on the edge or the driveway was filled in to even it out. This would make it perfect.
Great feeling throughout the house, great bed, nice quiet place to stay.

The house was beautifully furnished and really well and thoughtfully stocked including for breakfast. The garden is lovely. Having use of bikes was a real bonus. And just a short walk from the centre of town.
