Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandToilets had no soap or anything to dry hands on. Rooms were great but floors felt a bit sticky. Communal kitchen had quite a smell to it which dissipated a little bit whilst there. In R section. Bathroom in ASection someone had pulled shower curtain rail down so was sort of hanging on the wall which could have been dangerous.
Staff very helpful and location perfect. Staff gave us directions and how to let ourselves in which were very clear. Bed was perfect and rooms were very comfy. Loved our view in R6 and A1 was great too as were the bathroom in A1.

New ZealandI was put in a cell with no windows, bare concrete floor and a tiny bed. This bore no resemblance to the picture that I saw when I booked the room. Arriving late, I couldn't get into the lock box to get a key, had to ring and get a staff member to come out and let me in. Walking to the room we went down a corridor which smelled badly of Curry and also had a pile of Laundry bags out which we had to walk past. It is awkward to get to this hotel because the street doesn't allow Taxis acces, necessitating a walk, also it is poorly lit with signage at night, took a while to find the Hotel.

New ZealandYou will hear lots of noise from the street and other rowdy residents, sometimes even drunkenly jiggling your doorhandle. The walls are basically thin dividers, and you'll often have to use the lockbox to check in. One time the key for the room number I booked wasn't in the lockbox, so I had to guess the closest sounding one, as it was around 2am when I arrived. The hotel lifts are inside a shopping area that's locked at night, it might be a bit scary going to the lockbox and getting into the elevator area if you're a lone female with all the drunken revellers free to follow you in when you open the door with your scan-tag. You will also be hearing these drunken revellers on the street all night if it's a weekend.
It's the cheapest place to stay in the city, and the building itself has a lot of character. It's very central, and usually has plenty of rooms available. The double rooms with bathroom are ok.

New ZealandIt was a little grubby. We had dirty dishes left in our room, and hair between the sheets. The kitchen stove and oven were not working, and were very rusty. Had to go to two separate kitchens before we finally got a stove that worked. It says that the kitchens are all fully equipped, however that is not the case. It was a good thing that I had come prepared with plastic bowls, glasses and cutlery. No parking, and the paid parking was super expensive. 5 dollars an hour between 5am and 8pm I believe. And there are not many car parks available near to the accommodation, so it is first come first serve. The shower was quite dirty.
The price was good value, in saying that, you get what you pay for. The person at the front desk was pleasant, and did try to accommodate somewhere for me to cook when I asked. The rooms were tidy

New ZealandBit more information on checking in and checking out. We arrived and the staff didn't seem to want to deal with us. On checking out there was no one there even though the reception was meant to be open, we had to locate a number to call.
Room was basic but what we wanted as it was just a place to store stuff and sleep. Perfect location in the centre of Wellington, so can't fault that at all.

United KingdomThe rooms do not look like what they are in the photo. Polished concrete floors, rough furniture, loud aircon, long walk through dirty corridors, dodgey lights.
Was convenient having the shower in the room itself and having something local to CBD was good.

New ZealandSoundproofing poor, so lost sleep due to screaming kids in the next room. After hours help line was very noisy and had little ability to actually help. Hard floors in the rooms. I had a room mixup on arrival of two more in a group after I had been there two nights in a double, and shifting to a twin and a single which was inadvertently changed to a double and a single due to my lack of sleep, but was not able to sort it out due to lack of after hours staff, with the result that my entire party decamped to the West Plaza. Also, a single with shared bathroom can be very basic, e.g. in the party hostel end (Q area). Converted office building is a bit of a rabbit warren as well. No desk in the room.
Good location and economical. OK if you get room with own bathroom and if your neighbours are quiet and you are by yourself and not booking a group and you aren't expecting to work in the hotel room.
