General dirtiness. Lack of basics (no duvet cover or mattress protector). Could hear everything (people walking upstairs, the plumbing, etc).

    Location.

Mostly great just cleanliness of communal areas and floors could be worked on
    • Leisure trip
    • Family with young children
    • Double Room with Shower
    • Stayed 2 nights

Toilets had no soap or anything to dry hands on. Rooms were great but floors felt a bit sticky. Communal kitchen had quite a smell to it which dissipated a little bit whilst there. In R section. Bathroom in ASection someone had pulled shower curtain rail down so was sort of hanging on the wall which could have been dangerous.

Staff very helpful and location perfect. Staff gave us directions and how to let ourselves in which were very clear. Bed was perfect and rooms were very comfy. Loved our view in R6 and A1 was great too as were the bathroom in A1.

After seeing the pictures on your online advertising I was disappointed with the reality
    • Leisure trip
    • Solo traveler
    • Single Room with Shared Bathroom
    • Stayed 1 night

I was put in a cell with no windows, bare concrete floor and a tiny bed. This bore no resemblance to the picture that I saw when I booked the room. Arriving late, I couldn't get into the lock box to get a key, had to ring and get a staff member to come out and let me in. Walking to the room we went down a corridor which smelled badly of Curry and also had a pile of Laundry bags out which we had to walk past. It is awkward to get to this hotel because the street doesn't allow Taxis acces, necessitating a walk, also it is poorly lit with signage at night, took a while to find the Hotel.

You will hear lots of noise from the street and other rowdy residents, sometimes even drunkenly jiggling your doorhandle. The walls are basically thin dividers, and you'll often have to use the lockbox to check in. One time the key for the room number I booked wasn't in the lockbox, so I had to guess the closest sounding one, as it was around 2am when I arrived. The hotel lifts are inside a shopping area that's locked at night, it might be a bit scary going to the lockbox and getting into the elevator area if you're a lone female with all the drunken revellers free to follow you in when you open the door with your scan-tag. You will also be hearing these drunken revellers on the street all night if it's a weekend.

It's the cheapest place to stay in the city, and the building itself has a lot of character. It's very central, and usually has plenty of rooms available. The double rooms with bathroom are ok.

It was a little grubby. We had dirty dishes left in our room, and hair between the sheets. The kitchen stove and oven were not working, and were very rusty. Had to go to two separate kitchens before we finally got a stove that worked. It says that the kitchens are all fully equipped, however that is not the case. It was a good thing that I had come prepared with plastic bowls, glasses and cutlery. No parking, and the paid parking was super expensive. 5 dollars an hour between 5am and 8pm I believe. And there are not many car parks available near to the accommodation, so it is first come first serve. The shower was quite dirty.

The price was good value, in saying that, you get what you pay for. The person at the front desk was pleasant, and did try to accommodate somewhere for me to cook when I asked. The rooms were tidy

Bit more information on checking in and checking out. We arrived and the staff didn't seem to want to deal with us. On checking out there was no one there even though the reception was meant to be open, we had to locate a number to call.

Room was basic but what we wanted as it was just a place to store stuff and sleep. Perfect location in the centre of Wellington, so can't fault that at all.

The rooms do not look like what they are in the photo. Polished concrete floors, rough furniture, loud aircon, long walk through dirty corridors, dodgey lights.

Was convenient having the shower in the room itself and having something local to CBD was good.

The kitchen had next to no equipment, there was a big leak in the communal area so it flooded, check in was difficult despite us arriving within normal check in hours - there was no one on the desk at any point that we were there

Having to find another hotel for my lately-arrived colleagues on the last night was a bit traumatic.

Soundproofing poor, so lost sleep due to screaming kids in the next room. After hours help line was very noisy and had little ability to actually help. Hard floors in the rooms. I had a room mixup on arrival of two more in a group after I had been there two nights in a double, and shifting to a twin and a single which was inadvertently changed to a double and a single due to my lack of sleep, but was not able to sort it out due to lack of after hours staff, with the result that my entire party decamped to the West Plaza. Also, a single with shared bathroom can be very basic, e.g. in the party hostel end (Q area). Converted office building is a bit of a rabbit warren as well. No desk in the room.

Good location and economical. OK if you get room with own bathroom and if your neighbours are quiet and you are by yourself and not booking a group and you aren't expecting to work in the hotel room.
