Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

There were some dirty spots like the bathroom fan for build up of dirt and grime and corners of the ceiling for cobwebs should have been cleaned. The bath towels were okay, but if you are going to change them daily, please change all of the towels and not some. We didn't really use the kitchen for much, but it appeared to have items to cook with. It was nice to have a non-smoking room, but we couldn't open the window for fresh air because the neighbor smoked outside. There was a very odd smell in the bedroom/kitchen area, that was bothersome.
The location is great. Easy to get to and from the bus and walking distance to where we needed to go.

When someone walked in the loft it was very loud in the room below. The kitchen and bathroom were new with older aspects - toilet paper holder was on the floor, walls dented and not painted in some parts. no milk with provided tea/coffee
The location was perfect and the apartment was a great size with most needed utilities and new kitchen. Overall clean and very comfortable to spend time in! With cooking facilities.

The apartment was not cleaned with much attention to detail and the toilet in the main bathroom was very cramped and uncomfortable to sit on. The blind in the main bedroom did not stay up.
The staff were super friendly and location was perfect.

Our unit was very tired with chipped paint, stains on the couch, dilapidated shower. Drinking glass wasn’t clean. Our friends were in a different unit which was freshly decorated and had a dishwasher etc.

Parking was $20 dollars per day. Had a little spillage on the kitchen floor and when I cleaned it up I discovered the floor was very dirty

The 'limited parking' is really limited as in only a few spaces available and the cost is $20 per day. There are other alternatives which is Ok if you have a smaller vehicle and group. We managed though. On arrival our second apartment was pretty unclean and had no working smoke alarms. Luckily we were moved to a better apartment. The place in general is rather unkempt, front door knob nearly falling off, no working smoke alarms and very dodgy power points. But in general it was clean and a reasonable place to stay.

Property in need an upgrade ie:door fell off but was fixed. Window in second bedroom had completely loose frame and if pushed by A child they could fall five floors down. Blood spots on sheets and needs more attention to cleanliness.

Very worn out. Not clean, lots of faulty or broken parts. This has the feel of it being thrashed by groups over many years.

Some features of the room are a bit run down, like the bathrooms, but nothing too bad
The location is pretty good, right in the city center. Can organise parking for 10nzd a day on site, but only one car per unit (too bad we had 3 cars for 2 units...). The rooms aren't fantastic but good enough to sleep, have some rest, have a shower and even cook a sample dinner.

The heaters in the back bedroom and front bathroom had scorch marks and a burning smell when turned on.
Fab location and parking space was available. The place could do with a bit of a facelift.

I didn’t think it was value for money.

Not soundproof at all, noise carried through the whole apartment as well as noise from all surrounding apartments. The main bedroom faces the walkway and people walk and talk loudly right outside the window from 6 am.
Carpark saved for us, flexible checkin time, possibility to leave the car and luggage a little while after checkout. Excellent location.
