Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandWe loved it all - whilst it didn’t bother us and it was also outside of the hotel's control, the pub opposite our room (Martin room)was a wee bit noisy but it didn’t go too late and it was a Friday night after all. But just worth considering for anybody who is noise adverse. No complaints otherwise, a truly lovely stay.
Loved the small historical boutique feel of the property. Convenient car park, central, friendly staff and comfortable clean room. We enjoyed the warmth of the fireside library neatly tucked inside the foyer and indulged in a few drinks from the bar - the gin menu is very fun. A beautiful hotel experience.

New ZealandWere not advised its best to book table for dinner earlier. Arrived, and dining room was booked. Advised to go have a bar meal, but no tables avaliable in bar. We would have booked either dining room or a table in bar, if we were aware you could reserve a table in bar. Instead we had to go out in cold and dark and find somewhere to eat.
Warm and cosy. Heated floor in bathroom

New ZealandThe hotel's elegant interiors created a welcoming and luxurious atmosphere. The room we stayed in was both comfortable and beautifully designed. The bathroom was stunning, featuring a traditional freestanding bath and a separate shower, all in a stylish black-and-white design. The hotel effortlessly blends old-world charm with modern comfort. The hotel's location is ideal; it is right in the heart of the village, just across Union Square. This made it incredibly convenient to explore the area on foot. There are excellent coffee shops, charming stores, and a craft pub, all within walking distance. It is an easy drive from vineyards producing beautiful Pinot Noir wines.

New ZealandThe TV was maybe a little old and the apps were not connected. I did have a laptop on me but had forgotten to bring an HDML cord.
The room was lovely, the little kitchenette very handy and bed amazing. We used the balcony to watch the world go by which was really nice.

So easy to pop downstairs for dinner. Loved the area to sit and chat by the fire. Loved the full-length linen curtains, so in keeping with the high ceiling architecture. The balcony around exterior of the second floor was delightful on a beautiful autumn morning. The staff were incredibly friendly.

New ZealandThe wooden floors in the bar area are in terrible condition and badly need to be resurfaced. The floors actually let the place down as all other decor appears to be in lovely condition.
Room was great with views over the town square, and quiet relative to the bar & restaurant being below. And very warm too:)

The downstairs koungeroom is a charming and ntimate space and provides a refuge and a great spot for a glass of wine or to meet before heading out. Love all the books. I also loved the verandah- good spot for breakfast. Dressing gowns were handy too.
