Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe nights were a bit warm, and though they didn't bother a vast majority of the guests, I was allergic to the mosquito bites. Most of the guests didn't even get a bite, but the mosquitoes, much like they do at my home in the states, loved me!
The location about 20 minutes by boat from town, was magnificent! The snorkeling right off of our deck was perfect, and we snorkeled several times daily. The kayaking was also fantastic, and there is a nearly area where one would swear that they are in the Amazon. It is magical. The food was a bit TOO good, but the 2 pounds I picked up was well worth it! Also, the tropical drinks were amazing!

United States of AmericaThe hotel is in the middle of nowhere, so you have to eat most of your meals there. The food is absolutely terrible, I would say borderline inedible. I understand this in part bc they don’t have a lot of electricity on site, but there seems to a total lack of understanding of what can be prepped in advance. So beyond being bad it is also extremely slow. The waitresses are also terrible. Also DO NOT STAY IF YOU ARE A VEGETARIAN, YOU WILL STARVE
The place is absolutely beautiful

United States of AmericaI didn’t have any issues at all with our stay at the lodge, but for future travelers, here are a few things to know: *Due to its remote location, the lodge is hard to get to, but that’s part of the adventure! *There is no A/C and no screens on windows/doors in the property, it’s all open air. I will caution other travelers that we had one night where we were bitten by mosquitoes, so be prepared (unlike us), and bring some sort of mosquito repellent with you. *You also cannot drink the tap water and so are provided daily fresh bottles of water for brushing your teeth and for drinking by the cleaning staff. Because the property aims to be climate-friendly (I loved this!) you will also need to charge all of your electronics at the reception lodge. *There are tour guides in Bocas Town, wholly unaffiliated with Punta Caracol, who run the taxis from the airport and who will try to sell you on island-hopping boat tours. We decided to take a day and do this, but we personally did not enjoy the tour and found it profoundly disappointing and unsafe. It was not worth the money we and caution you to think twice before saying yes. You’re welcome to experience it for yourself but we were not pleased and should have declined. Again, I absolutely loved my stay at Punta Caracol Aqua Lodge, it was incredible, but I want to make sure others know what to expect ahead of time.
This was the quintessential place to unplug and unwind. Breathtaking views of the Caribbean, a cozy lodge, with unlimited access to snorkeling and kayaking. The food is deliciously fresh and the drinks are sumptuous. The property itself is lovely and the staff were absolutely fantastic, they all went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as enjoyable as possible. They even made a homemade cake for my birthday, it was very tasty and the kindest gesture I’ve ever received in all of my resort stays abroad.

PolandRestaurant is a nice place with music and drinks. Do not expect culinary experience there. The quality and taste of dishes will make you not to be hungry, that's all. The serving ladies could not even prepare a tea! They used to bring me lukewarm water and a tea sachet so of course the tea did not have a taste at all. I am a tea drinker so I found this a nuisance. Coffee as well was never served enough warm. But these are just details not so important for most of people.
I liked the experience of staying there for 4 nights although my family said for 2 nights is max. If you expect just nature , silence and relax it is a good place. It is just water around so the activities you may do are reading, sunbathing and water activities ( swimming, kayaking and snorkeling but you may see no much underwater wonders there). No wifi in the lodges only in the restaurant area. You may charge devices only at the bar counter. It was doable for us so bring mobile batteries with you if you cannot survive without your mobile/tablet or laptop. On the other hand it is a perfect place to disconnect. The cleaning service was offered each day, bottled water delivered by cleaning ladies every day,Be aware that there is slightly salty water in the bathroom. You have to use the bottled water to brush your teeth. The place offers 4 times a day a boat transport to Bocas for free. Otherwise for a boat taxi to a nearest beach - star beach we had to pay 75$ ( 25 per person)- which I think too much for to and back - twice 10 min drive. They took advantage that you do not have a choice, no other alternative. Star beach, which is I think the nearest one was ok - do not expect the beach will look like from holidays brochures. No nice golden sand , plastic chairs everywhere , a lot of rubbish behind restaurant areas and no really place to put your towel and relax. I did not really like it although starfish beach - sounds nice, doesn't it? Many restaurants but the quality of food seemed to me very low- for me it was a risk to eat there- of course my very personal view on hygiene. We ordered in one but we did not eat what was served. Bring your own biscuits and order bottled drinks- my recommendation.

SwedenThe lack of electricity inside the cabana. We had to use the lobby if we wanted to charge our devices and the internet was slow.
I liked that it was secluded and that we had our own cabana and that we could go straight into the ocean whenever we felt like it.

PanamaThe location is wonderful. The hotel is rustic and meant for people who would sacrifice comfort to be closed to nature. My family had a great experience, I am glad there was no TV and limited internet connection. The stars at night and the crystal clear water made our stay in Punta Caracol more enjoyable.

IrelandThe staff were not very hospitable. They clearly forgot my son's pancakes one morning and there was no apology. I was almost sneered at when I enquired. While waiting for the boat to leave, I realized I had forgotten my phone. When I returned to the room, there were two cleaning ladies. I asked about my phone and one of them was sitting in a chair with my phone on the table next to her (not where I had left it). It seemed to me she had no intention of letting me know even though we were at reception. One day a female receptionist was working and she was very welcoming and enthusiastic. She swept the whole place and threw out the rotten fruit on the bar top which had been there since the start of our stay. She let new families know about available equipment which we were unaware of as our receptionist had not told us.
Amazing location. Lovely decor. Clean, comfortable room. Decent food. Free kayaks. Amazing sealife.

AustraliaNothing really, the level of expectation we had was correct. It’s rustic, don’t expect luxury. This is a reasonably basic place but the views and the serenity make up for it 💕
The location of this lodge was amazing, away from the noisy town and dark waters. It was off the coast all on its own with clear waters and fish everywhere. We even saw stingrays! They provided extras such as kayaks and snorkelling gear free of charge which was great. The staff were super friendly and accommodating too.

United States of AmericaSnorkeling equipment was old, and the rooms were hot. And I mean hot. The first night it was super uncomfortable to sleep. They need to do better job with fans or something. And the fact that there is no power in the rooms except for their small lights which to be honest isn't a lot, is kind of unacceptable. They need to install bigger or more solar panels for each one so that you can actually charge your phone. My husband needed a CPAP machine that he could not use
Location was amazing. The hotel staff was really nice. The kitchen staff was outstanding.
