Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

A wonderful large room. I loved the fact that the AC was controllable to my taste. The beds are comfortable, but the tv could be a little bigger (changing times!). The staff was friendly, and my room was quiet. The shower is ample and the stream of water was 100% American USA! It is ideally located and you can enjoy a day or two here and have plenty to do!!

Everything was ok, except one of the atendants in the front desk. We had another room booked for our friends and when they were departing a day earlier than us, we asked the lady if she could call a taxi for them. She replied that she did not have that service. In other occasion, another lady in the front desk was very happy to help us calling a taxi.

We were catching an early morning ferry from the port to the Pearl Islands and this hotel is perfectly placed close to the port - it was a 20 minute stroll with our cases along a straight road. There are some restaurants and nightlife around, it is a place where locals from Panama City come to the fun fair nearby and to cycle. It's great for an overnight stay if you want to catch an early morning ferry.

I prefer a clothes bar in a closet for hanging things versus the hangars that detach from a horizontal rail. We were only there three nights so it wasn't any big inconvenience.
Our second level room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We always felt safe. The bathroom is exceptional with a walk-in shower and nice quality soap, shampoo, conditioner & lotion. The bath towels are above average. Wash cloths are provided. We had a room with two double beds, which seemed to have updated mattresses and good quality sheets & pillow cases. A fridge was included as well as a coffee maker. There is no better front desk service in terms of helpfulness and knowledge. The reception area always had a good selection of soft drinks, water, beer & snacks available at very reasonable prices. Restaurants are in close proximity. The mall is an easy walk. Flamenco Marina is a bit further.

Very clean, modern hotel located on the road to Flamenco Island. Lots of restaraunts and shops nearby. Excellent jumping off location for Taboga Island ferries. They arranged transportation with a reliable local taxista from the ferry, to and from the Mira Flores canal locks and the airport. Very accomodating.

The staff working are incredibly slow and not overly kind or engaging. A lot of the stuff is outdated like the refrigerator which barely gets cold.
A bit outdated, but overall nice. The room was spacious. Really only worth it if you get a balcony. The balcony is amazing. The AC worked well and the shower was hot which was surprisingly delicious. The location was good to walk the island.

Bathroom and towels were a bit dusty. You could not see it but I felt/ smell it as soon as I took the towel.
Breakfast was okay. Nothing fancy but it was good. I had 2 rooms, one view was magnificent, the other one had a view to the next door restaurant kitchen, but they did tell us it was not a sea view.

Continental breakfast was a little sparse. Staff was very friendly but few spoke any English.
This hotel is a hidden gem. Extremely good value located very near the cruise terminal with easy access by taxi or Uber. Very clean, large and comfortable room (and bed). Large bathroom and shower. Very good restaurant right next door. Also next door to the Smithsonian Panama nature center -- a very nice attraction featuring a small aquarium and displays of Panamanian frogs, and sloths (only $8 admission for nonresidents).

The location was good, but sadly the Amador was very busy and a hive of entertainment with loud music and vehicles till the early hours of the morning!
