Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaFor me, it was fine, but if it were a couple, you may be surprised to find the toilet and shower within a few feet of the bed, behind a curtain.
Everything was excellent as a solo traveler. Space was clean and comfortable. Bed was good. Light breakfast was good, and the location was nice to get to everything within a few minutes walk.

CanadaNothing really to say on this. We had a wonderful stay and everything was as advertised.
Breakfast was good and as expected. The croissants, with a variety of jams, were superb. Marie Jo and her husband ensured that we had enough to eat and provided excellent French coffee! What made the stay so nice was how welcoming Marie Jo and her husband were and how accommodating they were in providing hiking and dining options. They even drove us to the airport on our morning of departure!

AustraliaBe aware no refrigerator or electric kettle in room.
Spacious room with shower and toilet. On first floor. Very comfortable bed. A 10 minute walk to the harbour and restaurants - only a slight non strenuous ncline on return. Plenty of power points in room. Stayed during start of winter and shower and room were both warm / hot. Coffee and croissants / jam and juice for breakfast between 7.30am - 10.00am. Excellent hosts from the unexpected collection at the airport until the end of my stay. Highly recommend.

CanadaNext time we go we will ask for the room with the en-suite private bathroom.
The host was so friendly and welcoming and went out of his way to make sure we had a great time, making phone calls on our behalf, and giving us tips on where to visit during our stay.

CanadaI really loved my stay at Marie Jo's, I felt like visiting family, she and her partner were so welcoming and made me feel comfortable from the first steps into their house. I stayed in a small double room that was very clean and comfortable. The bed was good, wifi was good too as I had to work during my stay (remote work in IT). I had 2 windows in my room and had gorgeous views on the hill and the town. It was very quiet too. The bathroom was also very clean and spacious, well equipped. The breakfast was very generous and you can tell the hosts care about offering you the best experience on the island. I absolutely loved sitting at the table and chatting with the other guests while having breakfast. I truly felt like visiting family. Marie Jo and her partner will make sure to make your experience on the island the best ever. They were also kind enough to drive me to the airport in the early morning. I highly recommend to stay at Marie Jo's and will definitely come back there if I'm to visit the island again.

CanadaThe visit was much enjoyed. But I would have liked to know why the islands wanted to stay French and how the French government supported the loyalists on the islands. I also wish that the small municipal museum on St. Pierre had been open even though most of the tourists would be gone until next year.
The breakfast was a typical French breakfast-croissants, fruit juice and coffee. I really enjoyed the drive that the host gave to the beginning of a long board walk that also included a drive in the opposite direction showing us the beautiful island . And we also appreciated the drive to the airport on the last day-we didn't have to call a taxi. The host and hostess always greeted us in French whenever we came back into the building. I felt that I was in France.

CanadaThe room and B and B was very clean and comfortable and the hosts were incredibly friendly!! The wifi worked great, breakfast was perfect, and the location was fantastic…within walking distance to everything around town, and just a short walk to the ferry to Miquelon and Ile aux Marins, as well as to a wonderful lookout point on the hill behind the house. Saint Pierre was beautiful, and Chez Marie Jo was a perfect place to stay.

CanadaI did very well, others who are more sensitive or who have allergies might have a problem with what I think we're scented cleaning products. I didn't say anything as I was outdoors most of the day and was OK.
Attentive, good service, choices of beverages,, and fruit at breakfast. Our host was available for advice or directions.

CanadaThere is nothing I didn't like. Seriously. Chez Marie Jo is the perfect destination to explore the island of Saint Pierre. I can't say enough good about this place.
Excellent, generous breakfast with most pleasant company. Boundless juice, bread, croissant, coffee and a spectacular view. Hosts are wonderful, friendly people always willing to help me upgrade my French language skills. This is a must for anyone interested in French culture.

United States of AmericaValue wise this place is very good. I am used to travel in Europe and I would equate this to a "guest house" accommodation in Europe. Others in my party were expecting it to be more like a B&B in the States, which it is not. So, just be aware of that. I was surprised at how little English is understood, as I had been led to believe (by the tourist board) that everyone speaks English. That is not so. But that is not a problem. I am the one who should be trying to speak French! - not the other way around. Truly enjoyed our stay here.
Breakfast is very simple but adequate. The beds are not the most comfortable but are OK.
