To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Great for a night or two close to airport. Google maps did not work but even after dark the phone staff was able to get up there! And was patient and understanding of our dilemma. Good food within walking distance! Thanks for water and a cold can of pop in refrigerator!

Puerto RicoAt first I was wary about the location, 'cause it's very close to an area of dubious reputation, but it turned out to be exceptionally quiet and tranquil. The photos might be a bit misleading 'cause some of the areas are not private but common to all guests (like the living room), but once you're in your room you can't beat the comfort, style and cleanliness. The only thing I wished for was a small kitchenette so I could brew my own coffe, but... hey! You get a great bang for yout buck as is. Definitely will repeat.
Excellent option for a quick getaway or brief stay near the metro area. Quick and efficient property access procedure with parking right in front of the property. Very clean, very nice room with added value amenities like complimentary soft drinks and water, shampoo / conditioner / body wash, plenty of towels, free WiFi, TV... It's perfect for those looking for a nice place to relax and sleep.

The room and property were very nice and well maintained, and the staff was very responsive and easy to reach and accommodating to requests.

Larger room #2 was very nice. Clean and quiet. Nice amenities like soda and water in fridge. Good communication, simple check in and out with key lockbox. Easy walk to restaurants, banks etc. Close to airport, very inexpensive Uber ride. Close to Old San Juan.

It was quiet, cool, and comfy. It was easy to get in and out of. It had a good restaurant just steps away which was nice because we were on a tight timeline. We missed our connecting flight and had to book the one night stay pretty last minute.

United States of AmericaMake a note - no coffee pot! Awakened by voice of another tenant at 3a, a couple doors closing sometime after that. A water pump or something outside the room runs. Not things the host can control, but if you're a light sleeper could interfere.
Location was perfect. We were looking for a place with parking to spend the last of 16 nights before returning to the airport. Very modern interior, clean, good A/C and WIFI. Comfy bed. Easy check-in. Nice to have microwave and mini fridge. Several restaurants close by. A good value.

United States of AmericaThere was a small puddle of water under the fridge when we arrived. You're not supposed to throw toilet paper into the toilette but the trash can in the bathroom didn't have a lid.
Spacious room. Very clean and must have been recently renovated/built. There were a few drinks in the fridge for free. There was a big Smart-TV. Parking spots in front of the property. In the hallway they provided insect spray, sunscreen and some plastic silverware.
