Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsThe home is fully equipped with everything you need + its located in a beautiful environment, there was even a cake waiting for us when we arrived. Amélia (the hostess) is very friendly and care giving. The village itself is fantastically authentic with a very good restaurant. If you are ever looking for a stay in northern Portugal, I can definitely recommend this house.

United States of AmericaThe old house had a bit of a musty mildew smell
Unique old stone house experience. Loved the patio and garden. Soajo is a special old town and it is right in the village

NetherlandsThere´s an issue with how the number of people and access to all or parts of the house is presented on Booking. Be sure to message the property before booking. It would be nice to have a bathroom also on the main floor but this is a historical country home so I´d say embrace that vibe.
The location is great, right in the center of the village of Soajo while still quiet. The house is kept almost as a museum of the 18th-20th century, displaying the typical wood stove/fireplace and accessories (there´s also a normal stove for actual use) and overall decoration. Rooms are spacious and beds are comfy. The light is dim because of the thick walls and small windows, but this adds to the time traveling feeling. The outside eating area and garden are pleasant to hangout in. Amelia the owner brought us fresh bread and additional breakfast items every day and was very attentive.

SingaporeCant think of anything really, but we had more food than we could consume, so perhaps, trade quality for quantity.
Fabulous! It was better than I had expected, rooms, cleanliness, amenities and plenty of food.

United KingdomShort bed, steps every where around the house. But that comes with every typical stone house in the area.
Outside seating area, hot bread delivered to the house every morning, central location, friendliness of the owner. We've been staying in Soajo every Summer for the last few years and this is by far the best stone cottage we stayed in.

United States of AmericaIts a very old house, so the doors are low - especially for my 6’4” husband. The furniture is mostly wood, so there aren’t places really to lounge around. The patio furniture could be freshened up. But these are all minor things, and this isn’t a place to choose for the lap of luxury. It’s a place to have a truly unique, historical experience!
This is one of the oldest houses in the medieval town of Soajo. Truly a unique experience to get to stay here! Amelia, the host, did everything to make our stay comfortable. When we arrived the fridge was stocked with milk, cheese, ham, turkey, butter, jam, 2 kinds of juice etc. and she had made a large cake for us! There is a little market right around the corner with any other essentials you might need. We drank water from the tap the whole time with no problem. We did some lovely hikes from here and enjoyed sitting on the back patio In the garden with a glass of wine in the evening. Best, was strolling around the ancient town and surrounding areas.
