Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaIt was cold and rainy weather, but at least we had a warm, cozy place to stay. Wish we could have stayed longer.
We loved staying in this little stone house in a quaint village in the mountains. It had an equipped kitchen, wood stove for heat, hot shower, TV, wifi, and parking! The village is very peaceful. Plan to self cater and be prepared for the weather.

SingaporeIt would be great if the bedroom has a electric heater as it can be a tad cold and only able to rely on the wood stove in the hall for heat.
A very pretty old stone cottage in a tranquil pretty village. The interior is modern, prettily decorated and well equipped.

PortugalI booked without realising how far from any shops or restaurants the house is. Next time I will be much better prepared.
I loved everything about the cottage and its surroundings. I hope to return for a longer stay in the not too distant future.

A superb mountain village dwelling modernised to a very high standard. Large patio and garden with great views. One of the best places we stayed in. Guests need to be aware that Paradela is a tiny village with no amenities - stock up with food in Soajo. It’s a 14k round trip otherwise.

TaiwanCan be chilly in the evening. We visited in late June and once the sun went down, it got quite cold. Your hosts are clearly aware of this. There is a wood-burning stove inside the room, as well as another one on the deck area outside. They provide fresh split wood, as well at matches and fire-starting materials. There are also blankets inside and, once we'd dressed ourselves appropriately we were very comfortable, but you should be aware that chilly evenings are a likelihood.
This is a spectacular place to stay if you're looking to spend some time in the national park. The cabin itself is beautiful and extremely well appointed and the hosts are excellent. English is not their strong suit, but if you speak French (or Portuguese) communication is easy. The location is dramatic, you have wonderful views across the valley and the rural hillsides around you are beautiful. The occasional 'baa' of sheep from just next door add to the ambience of the place. Around the casa there is a lot to see, many great hikes and pathways, a lot of miradouro's (viewpoints) and some of the most incredible and dramatic scenery. It's a little bit of a drive to the fully protected areas of the park, but the surrounding rural landscape is fantastic. There is signage to get to the casa, which is large and easy to see from the road - if you're coming from the right direction, if you find yourself entering the Soajo area from across the river, having just crossed the dam, the signage isn't as noticeable. You also get to drive up and down some very steep, very narrow, rural cobblestone roads. For someone from North America, the first time you turn onto these little paths it is intimidating and you feel a bit like you must be doing something wrong, that this isn't a place for cars, but you should trust the signage, it is! Once you know how to get to and from the location, it's very easy and even the little Fiat 500 we rented was totally capable of getting up and down the steep little roads. Overall, just a wonderful place and we fully plan to be back.

United States of AmericaThe was no soap in the shower so we used our own shampoo. There was only one fry pan that needed to be replaced. The gave us 3 coffee pods which is not sufficient if two people wanted coffee. We would have liked decaf as well. There is just an overhead light in the main living area. We would have liked an extra lamp and light in the area kitchen as it was very dim. These are not complaints just observations for future comfort.
The location and the house was exactly what we anticipated. We read several of the reviews so there were no surprises. We stopped in town, Soajo to pick up a few items as we were aware the closest store would be 14 minutes back into town. Maria’s is a little store in Soajo with fresh eggs, bacon, cheese and coffee. Beware of the cows roaming the streets as they appear out of nowhere at times. The house was clean and tastefully decorated. The outside is spacious with several areas to relax. Friendly gato’s came to visit us too.

United KingdomThe spare sofa wasn’t comfortable to sleep in. The house is very remote and there aren’t any shops around. We stayed only one night and it would have been lovely to have had breakfast outside enjoying the view but we didn’t take any food so had to leave to go find breakfast. There was a coffee machine with no pods to use.
This is a quaint little house with a spacious and very pleasant outside area for a bbq and for relaxation. The location is amazing for star gazing. I hadn’t been able to see the Milky Way due to light pollution in quite a few years so it was a treat. Very peaceful! Even the traditional church bells weren’t intrusive. Beautiful landscape.
