Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BelgiumThe kitchen is ready for a renewal.
The pool, the lounge and the garden really made it a little paradise, an Oasis 5 minutes away from Lagos city centre.

United KingdomPrevious guests have mentioned the occasional waft from the local water treatment works, and the barking dogs in an adjacent farm, but these didn't really worry us or keep us awake at night. Kitchen equipment was adequate, though this area could benefit from a bit of a face-lift.
The villa was spacious, extremely comfortable and well-maintained, set in a lawned garden with palm trees. private pool and sheltered outdoor bar with brick-built charcoal barbecue. The whole property was discreetly screened to afford privacy for guests, and Eduardo himself was always available on the phone to answer queries and immediately attend to any problems, of which there were few.

IrelandThere was a small track down to the villa's as the road wasn't finished and the uber cars would not go down. But overall great place, perfect for families. Pool was really good and loads of space.

United KingdomAccess track main road to Villa could be improved for small low vehicle access.
Quiet rural location with normal countryside noises, all cooking and day to day utensils for our stay. Extensive own private gardens with private pool for sole use. Lagos a few minutes away by car.

United KingdomThe only bad thing was the location. Lagos is a small place, so it was around 10 minutes by uber to the city center. Doesn't cost more than 5 to 6 euros However the location was a bit remote and not many shops and eateries around. Uber was quite easily available but sometimes shows wrong location. The approaching road has very few lights and quite dark at night.
Lovely villa with all necessary amenities. The pool was beautiful, clean. There were lounging chairs and umbrellas. Excellent stay overall. It was spacious, nice shower and bathtub, very clean. The beds were comfortable.

United KingdomNearby Dogs barking at various times of day and night. This is not the fault of the owner its just inconsiderate dog owners within hearing distance.
I liked everything. Villa is very private. Beds are the most comfortable I have had in Portugal. Villa was a little further out of the town than I realised but as I had a car this was not a problem.

United KingdomVilla 1 doesn't have an oven (although it looks like the other two do) so bear that in mind. I think an oven does make self-catering a bit easier. Also do keep the windows and doors shut; being so rural you will want to keep insects outside. But we would absolutely stay here again.
We were in Villa 1 which has an absolutely beautiful garden. It's so great to be in a rural setting while so close to the town centre. Uber taxis made it so easy to get around, although we did have a hired car too, which I'd recommend for going to the supermarket. Not the most modern interior but we spent most of our time enjoying the outdoor and lovely swimming pool. Every member of staff we spoke to was a delight. And the barbecue is fantastic.

IrelandGenerally all better since my last visit in 2019 eg: water bottles x 2 on arrival, Ice in Freezer, other previous guests leftovers eg: salt, pepper, oil vinegar, herbs spices very useful! Only tiny complaint was lack of good quality toilet paper or toilet paper enough for holiday duration.
Location for new arrivals with no car maybe challenging but embrace the challenge with comfortable trainers, a brisk 20 minute walk into the marina/ centre on a challenging highway but if your calm and relaxed it's do able!

IrelandNothing, we were super happy with everything.
From the moment we arrived to Dana's warm welcome and big friendly smile it set us up for a wonderful week in Casa Paula Villas , everything was amazing from the outdoor bbq, to the old style stone pizza oven, to the beautiful fresh water pool , and friendly fish in our pond to the pomegranate trees in the garden and the beautiful villa itself. Location was excellent we seemed to be a 5 minute drive from everything we wanted to do and see. We would definitely recommend staying in Casa Paula Villas , and would definitely stay there again. Thanks Eduardo for texting beforehand with directions on how to get to the villa and thanks to Dana for such a lovely welcome ye made our first trip in Portugal a memorable one 😀

United KingdomFor the price, it would have been nice to have some 'kitchen basics' (e,g, salt/pepper/cooking oil, and some charcoal for the BBQ) provided. Plastic fruit and onions not very useful!! Some of the kitchen utensils were poor quality. Shower temperature control was poor. There was noisy little dog at the end of the lane which was annoying at night, sometimes for long periods.
The design of the garden and pool, with total privacy, was great. Very well-tended garden. Loads of space both indoors and out. Plenty of comfortable seating, and comfortable beds. Good strong wifi.

PortugalBest word to describe Casa Paula is “Oasis”. Big property with plenty of space, great pool, barbecue facilities and immaculate garden. Rustic style with appropriate decor. A place that makes you forget the day and hour and that’s how we felt here.

United KingdomThe lock on the front door jammed on one of the days and we could not get into the villa. Contacted Dana and the on site caretaker and they were very helpful and helped us get back in even though it was outside of standard hours.
We chose Casa Paula for the first part of our honeymoon and right from day 1 loved it. As mentioned each villa comes with a pool. This pool is a proper private pool and of a good size. Upon arrival Dana was there to meet us and help us settle in and show us around, explained the local area and was always available for advice and help via her WhatsApp. The property also has a on site caretaker that lives near the Villa and can be contacted in case of any issues. A word of advice to others, public transport isn't readily available so it is useful to either have a hire car or uber app. I found uber a lot easier to use than the local taxis with them coming to the exact location on the map and the prices being fixed prior to the journey so you agree on a price and wont reach your destination and be overcharged as was the case when I used a local taxi. Also the public transport in Portugal is much cheaper than in the UK, and you can easily head out for a day trip to albufeira if you want a change of scenery from the Lagos town centre.

United KingdomIts not the most modern flat but we were looking for a traditional style house so it was perfect for us.
I stayed in Casa Paula for a week with my wife and would recommend for a couple or two couples sharing. We loved the pool and BBQ. It really is 5mins door-to-door from Lagos centre (where there was lots of parking), which we really liked (good restaurants, has everything you need for a weeks stay). The hosts were really easy to contact and live on site for problems/check-in/out. Perfect location for South and West Coast Beaches.
