Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

CanadaEverything was good.
So very special to stay here in this old stone 1 bedroom home which was tastefully modernized. Well equipped with a nice little kitchen and modern bathroom. Good heaters. A fireplace with the wood. Luisa provided a cake and everything we needed for breakfast and all over again for day 2. Gated parking compound. We ate dinner one day at the pizza place which was good. Loved the scenic winding drive to the Penede church. Amazing stay and beautiful area.

United States of AmericaI loved it all.
The house and village were exceptional. Luisa took good care of every detail and left delicious cake and fresh bread for us as well as food to make for breakfast. This is the nicest place I have stayed and I wish I had a month to spend at her casa in the quaint village of Soajo. I would highly recommend this place.

GermanyWe could have wished for a cot to relax in the courtyard. Booking.com could provide a better description to find the place or name a meeting point. The location shown on the map is not correct.
Very kind and helpful host. Fresh bread and homemade cake every morning. Big fruit bowl on arrival. Traditional stone house with courtyard to park the car. (Streets to get there are very narrow!). Quiet, relaxing location. Hiking trail reachable by foot not far from the house.

AWESOME! Each day Louisa brought us eggs, cheeses, ham, milk, butter, juice, fresh fruit, home baked breads and coffee cakes. The kitchen had coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper, olive oil, vinegar, honey and jams.

United Kingdom- one side of our bed was very creaky and would wake us up whenever I moved - not a fault with the accomodation, but the town was particularly quiet, and we struggled to find somewhere to eat dinner on a Thursday evening at the end of June.
- lovely host - spotlessly clean - free parking - entire house to ourselves - DIY breakfast ingredients supplied daily, including fresh bread and cakes - Great location for exploring national park (with car) - peaceful, pretty and sleepy town

United States of AmericaOne bedroom was down about 4 steps and the other was a bit farther down. It's a bit damp in the lower bedroom. Also, a bit dark. That said, I would still highly recommend staying there. That is just how these traditional houses are set-up. Great experience!!
Just beautiful traditional house. Large kitchen and living room. Lovely traditional furnishings, and great updated bathrooms. On a tiny little street. You may want to park on the larger street by the cafe, as opposed to driving into this tiny neighborhood, although you can park in the gated driveway. Walking trail was right across the street. Louisa was lovely and provided welcome cakes and provisions for breakfast every day. There is also a Great restaurant in the village. It is the one in the large house with the red tablecloths,

United States of AmericaIf you're tall watch your head on some of the low stone door and window frames.
Beautiful little compound with 2 units and enclosed parking for 2 small cars (if you're comfortable navigating narrow old village lanes). Unit was spotless, nicely decorated and very comfortable. Shower was great. Our host was lovely, brought us fresh bread and cakes every morning. She kept the fridge stocked with enough meat, cheese, honey, butter, eggs, milk, juice for breakfast and a lunch sandwich. Sitting, dining and kitchen area upstairs along with entrance. Bedroom and bathroom downstairs. We enjoyed our 3 night stay very much. Thank you Luisa.

PortugalHiking the GR50 through PNPG in cold and rainy weather, we could only dream of ending our day in this place: cake on the table, coffee in the cupboard and most important, central heating! Of all places we already been to in the North of Portugal in autumn or winter, this is by far the best. The house is renovated with quality materials, so no damp or mold anywhere. The bathroom is actually cosy and warm, something we rarely seen. You can see the owners take great care of every single detail, from the bread bag on the door every morning to the soft linen on the bed. They will see us again here for sure!

IsraelTL;DR: just book the place :) Luiza nuestra señora de la casa is a lovely beautiful woman who turned this house into one of our best holiday stays in life. Her generosity and heartwarming hosting is as if she was my own grandma, welcoming us with cakes into the charming and rustic soajo town house. The food is in abundance with her, as she spoiled us with delicious treats, offered advices on where to go, helped us with things we had to do, and was quick to respond whenever we needed her. combined with soajo’s tranquil and mystic vibes, I have to say that’s perhaps the best stays of my life.

United KingdomThere's almost nothing we didn't like about our Soajo stay. A couple of minor points about the the house. In our property (the smaller one) the bedroom and shower room are downstairs, and being an old stone house, there is slightly damp, musty smell - but nowhere near enough to put us off at all - just open the windows. The wifi was initially a bit sporadic but it settled down. There's also a perfectly good 4G signal around most of the area, so not a problem if you have a good data allowance. While the food in restaurant Espiquero do Soajo was acceptable, it took a while to get the bill and pay - I think because members of the family appeared as the restaurant was closing. When we did attempt to pay - firstly they don't accept credit cards (this is not unusual by the way so make sure you have cash as a back-up). However the lady serving (who may also have been the owner) took our cash and assumed that the 'remainder' was also the tip, so disappeared and then joined the family with food. The change would have been the tip, but the fact that she didn't give us the option to tip, and just kept it, really annoyed my wife and I - though we couldn't be bothered making a fuss. Staff in the other restaurants were lovely and chatty, this lady wasn't, we felt more like we were just an opportunity for her to get our money. In contrast, we got chatting to the owner of Saber ao Borralho about the food and wine, he was really proud of his products, and ended up giving us a couple of glasses of wine on the house!
The location is fantastic, and located close to the centre of Soajo. There are two properties and we were lucky that the other was empty for two nights while we were there, so we had our house and the courtyard to ourselves! The owner, Luisa was lovely and met us at the bar/cafe on the main road and guided us through the tiny streets to her large property, where she opened the double gates and invited us to park in the courtyard. Perfect!! Luisa doesn't speak much English but can speak French. Beware though, she treats you like hotel guests, so when you're out she'll come in and tidy up and make the beds, wash the dishes etc. Not sure if she does that every day, but best not to leave things lying around. It's an old house, sympathetically renovated. It's kitted out in a traditional manner, which we liked. You have everything you need - and more. We arrived to find a huge bowl of fruit and a big sponge cake on the table. Breakfast for the next day was in the fridge - cheese, ham, milk, yoghurt, home made jam, fruit juice, milk etc. Each morning Luisa hangs a cotton bag of rolls and bread on the door handle. The Espigueiros are everywhere in the village and are brilliant - weirdly gothic, especially in the evening when the bats are flying around them. Soajo is a great centre for exploring the National Park with a car, and although it's not famed for its mountain river swimming pools there are fantastic pools in the area. But they get busy, so it's worth getting there early (around 09:30). There are lesser known pools that you can drive to, so if you want a quiet swim, they're worth seeking out. There are three main restaurants and a few bar/restaurants. We went to the restaurants. The best by far was Saber ao Borralho (possibly the best steak I've ever had), then Videira (where I sat outside and was bitten by mosquitos) and finally Espiquero do Soajo (not such a good experience).

NetherlandsThere is absolutely nothing we didn't like about our stay. It was absolutely perfect. The only thing you should be aware of is the street is very narrow when parking on the property, but we got in and out without any damages. This is however not an issue. There is also a general parking in the village that's just a short walk from the property. Everything in the village is in walking distance.
Soajo itself is a bit out of the way, but a beautiful place to visit. Our stay at Casas do Cavaleiro Eira was the extra cherry on top. The property itself was absolutely perfect, with a lot of attention to detail. From the crockery to the bedding, but also details like the comic book about the village. A lot of love has gone into this home and we were fortunate to get to stay here for a brief while. Breakfast was also more than we could eat in a day, with delicious cheeses, yoghurt, fruit and fresh bread that was delivered in the morning. I can only give Louisa a 10 out of 10 for making us feel so welcome. There was even a fresh and delicious bundt cake waiting for us upon arrival. If you're ever lucky enough to visit Soajo, this is definitely the place to stay.

GermanyBeautiful house in a lovely village. Spotlessly clean, spacious, very comfortable. Great mattress, very quiet. One of the nicest places I've ever stayed at. The breakfast is fantastic, too! Lots of fresh fruit, fresh bread daily, home baked cakes, and more. Paradise! Also, the thick stone walls protect well against the heat and keep the house cool throughout the day. Great terrace for sitting outside in the shade, too. I would not recommend staying here if you are taller than 185cm..., it's not made for very tall people. I'm 180 and that was still comfortable, but any taller might push the limits.
