Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

They make you pay for many small things, like storing your luggage etc. It is not a big deal, but it just feels a bit petty.
It is a very well equipped hostel, in a good location in the city, and run in a professional manner. All you need is there, basically.

Noise from other guests in hall kept me up until 3:00am. Toilet stalls cramped.

Great staff and hostel location. Good breakfast. Strangely hostel charge their guests for leaving bags before check-in. Also, pretty hard to get to second floor of bunk bed.

Only little problem we had was the fact that rooms are not well isolated, so we could hear noise in hallway and other rooms.
I loved the stay here. The staff were super friendly and helped us. Everything was clean. The common space was cozy. We really liked the fact that we could leave the backpacks safe until the evening even though we had already checked out.

I've been coming here for years but recently they started charging to store your bags before check in or after check out. I think this is terrible business. Also I really don't like that they don't accept cash for anything...
The staff are always friendly and helpful here. Rooms are clean and plenty of bathrooms for everyone. Beds are comfy.

Just keep in mind that the earlist check in is 3pm - meaning also if you need to use the coworking or luggage storage, after check-in out - you are allowed to do so until 2pm. But anyway it is quite useful.
It is my 7th time staying there maybe, it is just really convenient when traveling around Portugal and spending the night before traveling back home in the center of Lisbon. Close to Restauradores station, 24/7 reception and good Wifi, even a small quiet coworking area. I have also left luggage for storage there. The staff is always friendly and gives great advice and recommendations.

One of the few hostels in Lisbon that has heated rooms in winter. Nice social areas, okay rooms, acceptable beds, pretty horrible bathrooms but showers are great. Very friendly staff too.

We had to pay for a towel, the washing machine broke while I was using it. The walls are so thin and we could hear people coming back from town early hours of the morning.
It was very close walk to the centre, food and the tram. The staff was friendly.

While the overall experience was positive, I believe the addition of a shared kitchen would have enhanced the value for money paid. Nonetheless, everything else met expectations and contributed to a good stay.
The hotel's proximity to the center is excellent, making it a convenient choice. The room size was adequate, and I appreciated the overall cleanliness. The washroom was well-maintained, contributing to a comfortable stay. Additionally, the on-site café was noteworthy, offering a pleasant and enjoyable experience.

The beds are very awkward: they wobble at any movement and the ladder is difficult to climb. It made things awkward with your bunkbuddy because any movement or climbing in- or out of bed would wake the other up..

No fans in the room, and the rooms can get very very hot. But overall this didn’t take away from the experience
The staff were beyond friendly and so helpful with any questions we had! They helped our group book surf lessons so seamlessly, making our experience in Lisbon!

I have to say I saw one of the cleaning ladies wipe the toilet with a cloth then proceed to wipe the taps and sink down with the same cloth that really startled me, also you can’t bring drinks into the hostel forcing you to buy drinks from the bar witch closes at 11 Drinks were only $4 € which in any too bad

The only payment is thru card. Even for 2 Euros they don’t accept it cash. American Express card is not accepted.
