Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe upgraded to a suite due to it being myself and my adult son and were expecting two separate beds in the one area and a separate lounge area but we basically got 2 interconnecting rooms, one with a double bed and the other with a single bed and couch which is not what we were expecting or thought we were paying the extra cost for which was very disappointing and not worth the additional cost. From previous experience to a 5 star hotel a suite normally consists of a sleeping area and a separate lounge area.
Breakfast was excellent and there was an excellent choice on offer

IrelandIt is difficult to identify anything we didn't like about this hotel. NYE was a little flat in the bar (lacking in atmosphere) but the fireworks display at midnight more than made up for this.
The biggest asset this hotel has is its staff, who are professional courteous and extremely helpful. Other than staff, there are many 'little touches' that made our stay quite special, including the complimentary bottle of fizzy wine in the fridge and the beautiful boxed cake to welcome the new year. Breakfast is excellent, lots of choice, fresh fruit, yogurts, cheeses, salads, breads, pastries and the option of having a breakfast cooked to your particular needs and choice. Although our stay coincided with the Omicron outbreak, we felt 100% safe - top marks for hygiene and adherence to public health guidance. The fireworks display on NYE was superb.

United KingdomAlthough the kids playground was huge the kid club was not available during our stay. This was slightly frustrating as it was the main reason we booked the hotel. The food at the restaurant was also just average but the marina and is vast array of restaurants is a short taxi away.
We booked a 2 bed 2 bath apartment within the resort which was fantastic. The kitchen was well equipped and it had a dishwasher and washing machine. The buffet breakfast had an amazing spread, the spa was great, the gym clean and the staff super friendly.

United KingdomOne evening a group took over the bar area which felt a little selfish. We felt uncomfortable being there and unwelcome. This was only one evening of 4. So we didn't complain.
Hotel was clean, bright and comfy. Often at this time of year the facilities are limited. But this was not the case. Breakfast was excellent, wide selection and fresh, bar area was nice, accommodating, good food and drinks. Excellent cocktails. Had an upgrade and the suite was lovely. Option of daily housekeeping was appreciated, this has been lacking in our country. The spa was fab and my husband took the black week deal. Loved the relaxation areas.

PortugalCheck out, asked if able to use facilities, after the check out as the flight was late afternoon and there was no facilities to use to take a shower before. I would have been happy to pay if needed. Seems hilarious that an hotel in beach area is unable to provide this. I have stayed in hotels that were far from being a 5 star hotel all around the Europe and all of them provided this service and were willing to help.
People and staff very friendly, room well maintained.

United KingdomThe hotel only had a 20% capacity so we asked if we could move to a room with a balcony on the other side, and they wouldn't let us. We thought this was terrible customer service as it would have been no difference to them apart from making there customers happy. We got no sunlight on the side we were on. Also the cleaners did a terrible job cleaning our rooms and never gave us any robes.

United KingdomThey let guests reserve the whole pool area with towels by 7 am ! Yes 7 am ! No policing of this at all. Also guests did not adhere to the mask rule not even in the dining room that was packed at breakfast , this didn’t feel safe and when I asked a staff member why they allowed this . They replied they should not do this . But no one asked them to put a mask on or to sit down etc . They need to be stricter in this no matter what the nationality of the guest and I have to say most of these were English guests ignoring the rules !
I liked the location lovely walk to the Marina. How clean they kept every where and the staff were so helpful especially on reception. The rooms were lovely and comfortable. Top tip if travelling without children the romantic pool at the top is for adults only and much much quieter than the main pools.

United KingdomStaff were a little cool, and not as helpful as you’d expect. For example, I’d made a mistake on matching my booking to my Hilton rewards and asked for help and I simply got a shrug and said it should have been dealt with at the time of booking. I didn’t expect it to be “fixed” but at an attempt or “can I look into it” would have been nice. Also, the lack of water available first thing was insane. We tried each bar, eaterie and eventually multiple staff members to try and get water. Taking pity on us after over two hours a lady gave us the mini bottle from the mini bar as a peace offering. Not major, didn’t affect our stay, but the little things do notch up.
Multiple pools, gorgeous rooms, lovely food at the restaurant . Spa was incredible. All facilities on site that you would expect from a resort.

PortugalThe bath in the bathroom was deep and long and had no bars to hold onto in order to get out. A few of the guests were a bit obnoxious - especially one couple about wearing masks in places inside and close to people (ie ME!). But, not fault of hotel or staff. For a 5 star hotel, they could have provided a larger range of tv channels and didn't see any movies available. Understand hotel is only beginning to open up, so should give them a lot of slack. On Portuguese news the next day, it said they were finding "fake" PCR vaccination certificates, so PLEASE don't do that...not worth putting others, as well as yourselves, in danger. As an observation for booking.com, I was there both for work and a vacation which you don't allow for in your questions.
The staff were generally very friendly and helpful, especially at reception. Room service was prompt, food was fine, waiter at pool May 20th, late Thursday afternoon, was especially considerate and went the extra mile (hope Hilton takes note of this). They were very vigilant with hygiene and making everything "covid" friendly (oxymoron, I know). I live in Portugal and we had been told that thousands of UK citizens were about to arrive in the Algarve, but encountered very few and only 25% of hotel was full. So that was an added bonus (no insults intended, but we are just beginning to realize how widespread the Indian variant is becoming in UK and probably in EU). Although Portugal has been doing exceptionally well with Covid (except for a fatal blip at Christmas and New Year), and desperately needs the tourist economy back, was a bit relieved that I didn't run into many tourists at all. I've had one vaccination, but EU is still behind the curve.
