The house is placed close to the castle and in a beautiful area. The communication with Jolanda was excelente since the beginning. She is a nice host. The apartment is small but enough for a couple and with all the necessary stuff in there. It was comfortable.

We very much liked the authentic setting and atmosphere of this beautiful old townhouse which is located up in the town and reached via a sequence of narrow alleys and small squares (coming from the river valley) and we liked the plain and we liked the simple interior yet the house felt very cosy and it was practically equipped for example the kitchen has everything for making you own breakfast or dinner and we liked the rooftop terrace and the views over the roofscape of the town and into surrounding landscape - this is just wonderful.

The 3 floors of steps wee at times a challenge for my wife who is 80 and my 75 year old surgically replaced ankles. As were the cobblestone streets and walk ways esp. when wet were very slippery and challenging at times. However, as long as we took things slowly and carefully, we found the location well worth it.

The designated parking space was often occupied, but the nearby free parking lot was easier to get in and out of in any case. I parked there.

The location and position of this little house make it truly unique: well up the hill in the old town, a two minute walk from the castle, with views of the whole valley from the rooftop terrace! It takes a day or two to get used to the layout, with a room on each of the three floors and steep stairs, but I grew to love it. The kitchen is especially cosy on a cold January morning, and also very well equipped. I really enjoyed my stay here.

Very cute place in excellent location. Obviously not for 80 year-olds with walking sticks, but we're not far off and there was no problem. Loved the rooftop terrace.

Nothing, I loved absolutely everything.

The whole house was super cosy. I went to Silves for work, but the stay in this house has made me feel "immersed" in the south Portugal style of living. Everything was perfectly clean, and the whole house was equipped with everything that could be needed. And, the cherry on the top - the whole-roof terrace that allow to see the whole town of Silves - it was PERFECT!

It is such a beautiful house! a comfortable bed, great kitchen facilities and the views from the terrace are wonderful. the hosts are brilliant - made sure I knew how to check in and gave recommendations for dinner. I’ve never stayed in a house like it and I would love to come again!

Only thing might be the two flights of interior stairs for somebody older, but I managed it and it was worth it for the terrace on the top.

definitely one of a kind. well thought out and excellently presented though best for those adept with stairs. the roof terrace is dramatic - with views for about 320 degrees around. kitchen cleverly done in a small space with all you need and nothing you don’t. very central.

Jacqueline is an amazing host and it’s a pity we didn’t have a chance to meet in person. The house is very unique, with a stylish bedroom and lovely terrace on top. Going up two flights of stairs to get to the bathroom may be discouraging for some, but we didn’t mind it and loved every single bit of our stay. Many thanks!
