Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

MexicoDespite being so central, the place is unfortunately located on an odd, empty backstreet that sometimes was unpleasantly smelly. Our room was in "the annex" away from the reception area building. While the annex had a generally clean entryway, the rooms themselves have this old neglected American motel quality to them. It just felt cramped and unwelcoming. The room's facilities and bathroom felt tired and somewhat depressing. The room had no small mini-fridge to store the occasional drink, takeaway, or restaurant dinner leftovers. We would not stay there again but rather look for a more inviting place.
Hotel Evora Centro is just a few blocks from the active pedestrian city center. The reception area is spacious, has helpful friendly staff, and an open inviting breakfast area.

BulgariaNo fridge in the rooms ( - ) Not environmentally friendly: disposable plastic cups in the room, there is no option to mark for the day if you want or not fresh towels, sheets, and even the hand soap bar - everything is replaced every day without an option for the client to mark that. This is pleasant on one side but having options to reduce all the waste for good is a simple must. ( - ) Broken/dangerous and not enough electric sockets: one triple socket (in a room for 2 people) installed at only one spot in the room, unstable and with exposed inside cables ( - ) Noisy: not suitable if you are trying to rest or concentrate, prepare solutions if this is your case ( - ) Smelly, health dangerous air conditioner: strong moldy air from the air conditioner, powerful cold flow with not much possibility to regulate No elevator for those considering this option
( + ) comfortable bed ( + ) acceptable bathroom ( + ) smiling cleaning staff ( + ) effective window curtains - isolating from hot temperature and light

United States of AmericaExtremely hard to get to. Guest need to know you pretty much should not drive to the property- very dangerous. Thankfully we met a lady who directed us to the under ground parking and walked to the hotel. I witnessed a huge family with multiple elder adults pulling their luggage up the cobblestones by themselves. I would not recommend staying here.

United KingdomVery dates, old dark carpets, who knows how long they’ve been there for. Really old air con sticking out of the wall on a cable. Thin mattress. Really need a proper refurb. Very poor breakfast, no eggs, no natural yogurt. Nothing healthy apart from fruit. Coffee was nice.

SwitzerlandThe bathroom could look a bit newer. The access by car could be easier. I would also would like to see an elevator, however maybe this is a lot to ask in such an old town. It would be great if there was a better interaction between the hotel and surrounding wineries. Yet, they helped a lot for us to find a winery to visit.
The staff is great and the hotel is new and fresh, which is good considering the town general offerings. The location is great, in the old town, and with access by car to drop belongings. To stop by car at the front of the hotel, the street is very very narrow, but quite possible.

PortugalAccess to the hotel was extremely difficult as the lanes were too narrow and many cars must have had scratches or dents manoeuvring. Parking outside the hotel was only allowed for loading and unloading luggage. We had to park the car outside the city wall. The shower was broken, and bathroom ceiling had black mould in the corners. We were given another room which was smaller and an awful drain smell from the bathroom lingered over the whole room.
The location was very central and easy walking distance to many of the sights.

Portugalfound used showercap in the bathroom. the carpet was dirty, my wife had socks on so her feet wouldn’t get dirty. poor lighting in the room, only one nightstand for a double bed. the pillows were large and hard. breakfast cost €9.50, but few choices. tea water was barely lukewarm and we were there shortly after 7am. youghurt had suger added, thus no choices for diabetics, and I did ask,,, the fruit looked ok, but the kiwi I tried was mushy and probably old. refreshing towels in a pouch were dry, must be very old
the bed was very comfortable , excellent location
