Sadly, unlike many of the other reviews here, none of the three reception staff spoke any English or French, which suprised us for a four star hotel.. the pool wasn't heated and we asked politely three times for them to at least warm it a little, and in the morning.. but they didn't seem interested in doing so, then to discover the controls were broken.(.this was the main reason to stay here. !..)...there weren't enough plugs in the room to charge phones..and the shower/loo was in a strange set up... next door was a kebab takeaway so quite noisy... the small ornate furniture was quaint but awkward... tho the air con was good,..

It was an impressive building with classical furniture in the room and a well equipped compact gym and a small indoor pool.. breakfast was amazing with such a good choice including many fruits... scrambled eggs and bacon also...the shower was powerful and hot

Mattress cover and pillows need replacing & sheet did not fit the bed properly. Be mindful of glass door on toilet which doesn't give much privacy! Bar choice was limited - no G & T and seemed to just offer us beer. The breakfast was not great - stale rolls, poor choice of fruit and hot food looked unappetising

Location was good to explore the city on foot and we were given a great recommendation for a near by restaurant for our evening meal. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Very nice hotel, great location, our room was situated to the back part, so it's been very quiet. Fantastic breakfast! Kind of funny glass door bathroom in the room as well as in the public hotel area. Nice personnel, always smiling receptionist.

Was there a reason for no locks on some toilet doors? Would have liked more privacy in the bathroom area.

Location is excellent for sightseeing and bars and restaurants. Very clean, staff extremely friendly, polite and helpful. Breakfast had lots of choice.

Not the easiest place to spot, the sign is high up! Be careful in the basement car park: it has a low ceiling/fixtures when opening the boot!

Lovely period hotel with off street parking in the basement. Nice bar are to relax in. Short walk to restaurants; and the University (just Lots of steps for this one!)

The hotel is located just few minutes walk from Coimbra center. It has a comfortable parking for your car. Rooms quite big. Very nice swimming pool and sauna free of charge.

The internet wasn’t very good. My room didn’t have a desk, which is very inconvenient for work. It was not so easy to connect my devices, I had to move the furniture to reach the plugs. There was only one trash can, and it was inside the toilet, which is inconvenient if for bigger trash. The only place to hang wet clothes was inside the bathroom. Which made inconvenient if I wanted to also take a shower.

It is perfectly located near the university. Which is perfect for my work. The sauna was great. There wasn’t a lot of people, so I could enjoy all by myself. The breakfast was great. The staff was very nice and attentive.
