Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsThe check-in was not the greatest experience because there were a lot of people and we had the room 40min after the check-in time that was promised. Since our check-in was done is two phases, first for payment and after to get the room (they allowed us to use the facilities but not the room), we did not have the whole explanation of how restaurants work and we could have used it better if we knew he had only one restaurant visit included. Also, while waiting for the room, the suitcases were under the sun. We felt like the place was mostly meant for families with kids.
The location was amazing, the food was really good for an all-inclusive, there was a small problem at check out with the payment and since we had the boat very late in the evening they allowed us late check-in for free.

South AfricaThe variety of food was rather limited and somewhat disappointing. Although we visited in the off-season it was during the easter period and evening entertainment would have been great. Also would have been good to know that the speciality restaurants can only be booked with stays of 4 days or longer, we would easily have added another day had we known!
Beautiful beach, facilities and location, great activities for children and wonderful for relaxation.

PortugalThe indoor pool temperature could be a little higher as we went on March and couldn't use the external pool or beach.
The breakfast was very good. The staff was also very friendly. We traveled with our 4months old baby and used to request her soup when we went for breakfast with all the ingredients we wanted which was amazing.

PortugalThe quality and diversity of the meals (dinner). I am sure the cook makes or tries his/her best but is far far away of what is expected in a five stars resort Quality, preseentation and options are completely outdated. With some effort (I'd suggest few workshops) this can be improved and the client's satisfaction will increase a lot.
The location; just in front of one of the most beautiful Portuguese beaches. The resort itsefl is beautiful! Really nice gardens, pools, options for leasure and rest. The kindness of the staff, very friendly and always helpful.

PortugalThe balcony was full of the spider net, including the table and chairs, so you can’t sit on them. We didn’t get a complimentary bottle of water, toiletries or bathrobes. I believe it’s because we checked in earlier and they probably didn’t have time to place them in our room. If you are in same situation, just ask the reception and they fix everything in a matter of minutes.
The staff: The staff is truly amazing and accommodating. Our room was ready at 11am and we could check in earlier. We also checked out at 5, instead of 12pm at no extra costs. It was a low season, not so many people, so the reception could accommodate our request at no extra costs, which is really nice of them. The food: we booked the option with breakfast and dinner. And we are glad we did. The food was high quality, the variety was decent and they cater to vegans as well. Also, most of the restaurants outside of the hotel were either closed, far away, or too expensive for they quality they offer. So booking dinner or all inclusive during is a must!! Location: right at the beach, the beach was beautiful. Amenities: the swimming pool was clean and big, so everyone can enjoy it and not be bothered by others. There were several saunas and a small indoor swimming pool with a warm water. All were lovely and clean.

SwedenDon't leave mess or sweet stuff around, there are small ants coming in, but I am sure its totally normal for Madeira and places close to nature like this. Breakfast was avarage, but still a lot to choose from and a lot different nice pastries.
It was clean, pleasant stay. All we needed around, close to beach. A lot of pool area.

Netherlands- Sauna / steam / spa generally didn't work for first 2 days - Steam rooms were not fully working as never got really hot enough! ( but once the sauna worked it was amazing ) - The first room we were allocated was next door to a family with a baby and we could hear everything because our room had a locked door directly to theirs, so must've been intended to be a joined up room. Anyway the reception changed us to a lovely quiet room and we were very happy with it. But I don't know why they allocated us to a joint room in the first place. - Breakfast was a huge variety of everything you can imagine including fizzy wine! However, the quality of some stuff was quite bad, like the bacon was v cheap and the coffee machine produced really industrial tasting milk coffees like latte but black coffee was fine. - As a Brit, tea is important, and the hot water was never hot enough at breakfast to make a good tea! ( but the room had kettle so we could get our tea back in the room ).
+ The rooms were of decent size with large balconies + Shower good pressure and bath nice too + Location with walkway direct to the beach was a real joy + The garden design was amazing, really bursting with exotic plants and cacti grass creating a well integrated feel + Hotel provides beach towels and robes + Sauna + swim in the sea was a great combo ( but the steam rooms were unfortunately underwhelming ) + Lovely big swimming pools but outdoor ones were colder than the sea ( winter )! + Breakfast sitting on the terrace was very pleasant ( once we discovered the fresh omelettes and pancakes ) + Most of the staff were very nice and helpful, particularly the cleaner and one of the receptionists + Although off-season we found 2 very nice restaurants about 15 mins walk from the hotel ( we did not have all-inclusive so did not eat at the hotel's onsite resto ) + Rooms had ample fridge space to store drinks n snacks + NYE there were good parties, and fireworks on the beach !

PortugalI found the sun loungers extremely uncomfortable. The pillows were not plump enough. They look lovely, but as soon as one lies down on them they go very flat! Disappointed we couldn’t book at the Sushi restaurant- Koi. We tried for days to book and were then told no availability. Televisions in the room and bar areas are tiny! They could at least upgrade and put bigger screens in there- Especially when there’s a big sports tournament going on!
Near the airport so that was easy. Staff all very kind. There’s something for everyone! I think a week is the max/ perfect amount of time to stay..it was for us anyway.

Czech RepublicIt is not a 5 star hotel. The place is not maintained, very dirty. The food is so untasty that we needed to go to eat outside the hotel. And yeah, we did pay for all inclusive. The dirty stuff from the housekeeping were everywhere, sometimes even at our door. There was one pillow outside the doorstep for the whole time of our stay. We couldnt reserve the restaurant, because we stayed just for one night. In the buffet, the plates and glasses were sometimes dirty and you can even see your rest of the food from the plate being kept on your site in the restaurant. So disgusting.
To be honest, not much.
