Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomIt’s expensive but you pay for what you get. There is a supermarket just outside the resort which is worth getting the basics from.
We’ve stayed here before and loved it. It’s a beautiful resort, with great facilities and friendly staff. This time we chose a townhouse which enabled us to self cater to keep the costs down. It was a stunning place with a fully equipped kitchen and garden furniture and a BBQ. We come for the golf and love the course. My advice is to bring or rent your own clubs and trolley again to keep costs down. The champagne bar is worth a visit at sunset. Stunning views!

United States of AmericaCasual dining place served mediocre food. The fish restaurant very overpriced. Zest very good, Pirir Piri very good.
Huge gorgeous property, the cliffs, the beach, the grounds are immaculate. The service is awesome. There is beauty everywhere you look. Our suite was fantastic. Super nice.

CanadaThe only little complaint was the clarity in finding our way around the resort. Signage was adequate, however not always visible. I also wasn’t too impressed to see smaller children in areas that should only be for adults. Bars/lounges for example, seeing young kids playing billiards when it should be more for the adults. It was great to see that the resort addressed the needs of kids and children of all ages, however, there should also be some restrictions for areas that should only be for adults!
The resort was amazing. We found the entire resort well organized and clean! The staff were always attentive and responsive to any of our questions or needs.

PortugalHowever, the service is very average, the PQR for good and drinks rather low and some services arranged strangely (e.g. you could not get sunbed or chair on the beach, ALL the outdoor pools are too cold for kids and there is not a drop of drinking water in the room)
The landscape is just magnificent and the hotel layout is great. The rooms are very spacious and well eqiipped. Variois activities for kids are available

United KingdomWe had grandchildren with us. And as before found the main cafe for kids poor quality and not good value for money. So we tended to eat off site - which anecdotally more and more of your guests were doing

United KingdomThe swimming pools are not heated, so a bit cold in May! However, once you were in and splashing around, it was fine!
Everything! We couldnt fault one bit of our stay at Pine Cliffs, everything was perfect - from the accommodation, to the service, standard of food and the pools. The beach was also absolutely beautiful, we cannot wait to go back!

United KingdomReturning to pre-pandemic standards has proven a real test and some deficiencies need to be addressed by senior management. A quicker response from reception / concierge at the Ocean Suites desk when problems were reported and a better attitude to compensating things which were not addressed or fixed within 24 hours would be helpful. The golfing range, including pitching and putting greens is a great facility but the driving mats are a total disgrace - they have not been replaced for years and the wear plus warping is very bad. Staff privately blame cut-backs, but other facilities have been improved first despite this. Golfers were playing in different areas dangerously as it is not properly supervised and some less aware golfers were walking behind or too dangerously close to those on the mats. Some thought should be given to removing some of the pines at the 150-250 distance which are not protecting the boundaries. The arrival of coach parties for the first time in my 10 years makes for very uncomfortable practice for the residents. The balls are lifted constantly from the target areas and refills from the machine are always available. This Golf academy area is a poor reflection on Pine Cliffs and must be addressed urgently. The 9 hole course is well maintained although overpriced for a round (€55). The Covid spell has seen great reduction in staff and services near the various pools, with towels etc and the beach beds frequently not being cleaned or extra beds not put out during busy periods. The staff attitude at Mare on the beach is frequently poor and does not at all match the high standards elsewhere in the complex.
The sheer magnificence of the complex, its peacefulness, well maintained and watered gardens and plants, the excellent training of most staff and their friendliness (except at Mare!), the attention to detail are all great plus factors for us after 10+ stays.
