Everything about Quinta das Susandas was excellent. The space is quaint, peaceful, clean, comfortable, and lovely. We received a warm welcome by Nadia, and she was attentive and accommodating throughout our stay. It was our first time travelling as a family of three (with our seven month old baby), and Nadia went above and beyond to ensure that all our needs were met. Our little one was doted on and spoiled, it was wonderful. The onsite restaurant was impeccable, both for breakfast and dinner. We received great recommendations for off-site restaurants, as well as things to do and sites to see (but we chose to spend our time on the property). I highly recommend Quinta das Susandas, and only regret not having booked a longer stay. Our family will definitely return to this gorgeous place.

Carla & Marcelo were very hospitable, helpful, and friendly.The Vila/Winery is well designed to show up Portuguese culture and comfort gustes as well. The breakfast was fresh organic and a plus to our stay. Two outside pools are well maintained and have amazing views. This is the best place to stay to explore Duoro River.

Quinta das Susandas is an amazing and recently renovated property in a beautiful and peaceful land, ideal for taking some break and rest from the city life. The rooms are spacious and have all the comforts you need. The staff is polite and gentle, always available and willing to make your stay enjoyable. We were welcomed by Marcelo - who is managing the family-owned property - in a very pleasant tour of the property, which included a taste of their own produced Porto wine (also available in the bedroom) and some tips on what to visit/do around. The property is located in a strategic position to explore the Douro region. The only regret is we stayed only one night.

The staff were 5 stars. Very considerate of us, gave us ideas on what to do and to see. The included breakfast was very good and complete. We also had dinner and it was good and it wasn't expensive. Marcelo, Carla and Dália made us feel at home. We really recommend.

The roads in the Duoro valley are not for the faint of heart! But that's a nervous driver talking.

A beautiful quiet quinta with a few rooms in a gorgeous setting. Breakfast is exceptional. Room was very nice and we enjoyed the balcony everyday. The view from the room was spectacular. Also enjoyed both pools - one was an infinity pool overlooking the valley.

Nothing major. Could have done with hooks in the bathroom to hang towels on and the shower leaked after use (not during).

Lovely and quiet. The hosts were very friendly and answered all questions quickly. Always smiling and helpful when we need some wine glasses and a corkscrew! Great views from our balcony and the daily cake in our room was a nice touch!

Staff were excellent and very welcoming (we enjoyed tasting port on arrival). The room, and the view from our room were fantastic. The room was also incredibly comfortable and we slept excellently. Breakfast was tasty and generous.

Beautiful authentic Quinta in Douro Valley. Charming historical touches from mix of antiques and woods in common area, with modern rooms! Touched by warm hearts of our hosts with food and wines (their home made porto wine is the best we’ve have ever tasted). Loved the welcome package of homemade cake and Porto in the room. Carla , Marcelo and their team (including their roosters, birds, dog and vineyards made it extra special). Ps panoramic views from pool or room and much more made it perfect! We will definitely visit again and recommend to others.

There is a very large electrical tower on the property, near the main pool. This should not deter your stay but it is a little bit of an eye sore.

Lovely bathroom but shower door coverage not adequate to prevent shower water splashing outside of shower. This seems to be pretty common in Portugal. Other than that, the stay was fantastic.

Lovely home on a beautiful property. Rooms were very clean with a comfortable large bed and very nice bathroom. Great breakfast. Wonderful host.

Would be a little more charming if the breakfast and dinner was served outside as the view is so nice.

We had an amazig view from our bedroom and the staff was very nice and friendly and gave us some good tips for our travles.

The host clearly warns about this (so no issue with them) but avoid the small road from the village when arriving and leaving - stick to the bigger road. The small road is very tricky ;-) There is a good road to get here, you don't have to use the village roads.

What an amazing place. Stunning views and setting, very helpful and friendly hosts, delicious dinner (have to book) and breakfast. Would love to come back and stay a bit longer. Stay here if you want some peace and experience a stay at a Douro Quinta.
