Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe didn’t book a long enough stay.. but it’s a good reason to return for leg two of our Camino in early 2024😀
A treat for the latter part of our week long Camino Adventure, sadly cut short due to a badly sprained ankle meant we had to check into our accommodation early. Both Fatima and Vanessa were more than accommodating, where they had kindly upgraded our room to one of the outer buildings adjacent to the swimming pool. The quality and history with attention to detail is all around, from the furnishings, beautiful linen, fixtures and fittings to the luxurious grounds, green lawns with running water features. A true oasis amongst a beautiful coastal region of North Portugal. Our breakfast experience was exceptional, with a fantastic selection of cereals, buffet style continental and cooked breakfast on offer.

United KingdomThe property is located a good 20 minute walk from the restaurants and beach, although there is a cafe and a tapas bar located a bit closer around a 10-15 minute walk away. There's also a Brazilian grill restaurant that is a short walk away, which the hotel didn't mention when they provided information about the area. I'm not sure if it's because it's new or if it just wasn't a place they were recommending. It's not a major matter, but I didn't enjoy the smell of mothballs from the sheets and would prefer a fresh smell. Also, the bar/games room needed airing as it smelt slightly damp. You should aim to arrive at breakfast at the start as buffet items weren't replenished and scrambled eggs and bacon were cold and mostly gone if you arrived even half an hour after 9am.
A lovely tranquil atmosphere, where you're made to feel at home. Breakfast is relaxed and self service. There is a great living/ games room with a pool table, chess and a bar. The room was actually more like a small apartment with a basic kitchenette with microwave and sink in a living room when you first come in and the bedroom and bathroom beyond that at the rear. The bathroom was modern and clean. The decoration of the rooms made you feel like you were in a traditional country home and there was nice touches like good toiletries and a small port for each guest. There was a table and chairs on the terrace in front of each room from which you could see the main house, church and the sea. The receptionist provided a map of the local town and recommended restaurants, as well as explaining travel (driving only) and parking to the local town of Viana do Castelo that is worth seeing.

This is truly one of the most beautiful places we have had the pleasure of staying in. From the moment the huge gates are opened for you, you’re transported into a luxurious oasis. The family owners have lovingly cared for the property, preserving its original character. Our room had a view to the sea and was enormous including a lounge area. The hostess Famita was kind enough to upgrade us. Vanessa greeted us and looked after us wonderfully during our stay. The pool is absolutely gorgeous. Don’t miss an opportunity to stay in this magnificent quinta!

United States of AmericaWish there had been dinner options available at the home. We would have definitely dined there versus going out to eat.
This was one of the most beautiful places we stayed while walking the Camino de Santiago. The room and the grounds were beautiful. Loved those heavy wooden shutters to keep the sun out in the mornings. Décor was beautiful. We loved sitting outside and going in the pool. Breakfast was exceptional in the morning. Appreciated the high quality toiletries and the welcome treats. Also liked the "honest bar" option. Staff was very helpful, kind, and accommodating when my husband encountered a minor health issue! We were very thankful for this kindness and hospitality.
