Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe were there in low season beginning of November and a few of the restaurants were closed. They also removed the sun loungers from the beach on our second day. The restaurants were very expensive
The location is amazing, the gardens and views are beautiful. Felt very luxurious. We had an upgrade on our room for our honeymoon which was beautiful and special touches with champagne to welcome us. Access to the beach was perfect.

NetherlandsSeemed they were already kind of closing down before winterseason. Swimmingpools were freezing cold and some restaurants were closed, so the ones open were either booked or there were waitinglines.

Ireland(not negative just don't have any more space on the positive... I tip my hat to Tiago and Paulo on the reception! the owners should rejoice to have such professionals at their ranks; ohhhh almost forgot! I left a shirt on the room, when I called today the lost and found had already found, managed and labeled the item and was ready to post it to me... just awaiting my contact and authorisation... Mariana was brilliant! Thank you so much for your services) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The coffee at breakfast could be improved. not bad at all, but as a Portuguese citizen we are used to the highest quality in any corner coffee shop. Perhaps an extra service of it an an extra cost could be an interesting solution.
I travel for a living as I am an airline pilot, im used to hotels and my father owns a luxury resort hotel, im not easily impressed... Yet from the very beginning our experience in Pine Cliffs was absolutely amazing! the style and class from the entry gates with the beautiful pine trees, the typical Portuguese sidewalk, the parking spaces, the entry, the pleasant smells, the smiles, the efficiency, the proactivity of the staff! I was offered an upgrade on my room that was one of the best suggestions of my entire vacation! what an outstanding villa! with front view to the sea and the pool (room 98) I cannot recommend this enough! the gardens and golf court are outstanding! the fountains that make you feel in any given Portuguese village, transpires the very soul of the country! the access to the beaches are like a stairway to heaven, the sand was so clean! the bar serving ice cold sangria was a little piece of liquid rest to the soul! the bar by the pool had this chill out mode music playing that made me lose track of time, words seem to fail me now to describe the experience I had! The breakfast well organised and with plenty of space between guests, offered a wide range of food tastes and preferences including vegan lifestyle. I might have gained a few extra pounds on their food! I had the displeasure of being stung by a wasp on zoomarine during my dolphin experience, and when I got back to the hotel I was immediately taken to the doctors office, on which I analysed, taken care of and even medicated for free. The sense of well-being was absolute from the moment we stepped in until the moment we stepped out, my fiancé had already been a guest there the previous year along with my mother-in-law and she can't seem to talk praises about Portugal... such was the level of the hotel.

United KingdomWell as much as we enjoyed the rooms on both occasions, they haven’t been updated or serviced for a long time. Some structural issues of missing grout, broken shower head, some mold in the shower, and the refrigerator on this occasions was pretty much a hot box. ( it did work but not effective to cool drinks for example.) The only few gripes I had are the following. 1) why are the pools so cold? The first time I put it down to being in the end of May, but this time after three months of nice weather, our pool in the north west of England and the entire Atlantic Ocean was warmer then the those in Pine Cliffs.. use a thermal cover?? Turn the heating on? Our 2 year old and all the other children were turning blue and clearly upset about the temperature of the pools. The pools should be hours of fun, but the temperature made it turn into minutes of a dip, then even the most resilient adults would only be in for a couple of minutes. Even the kiddy pools were ice cold. 2) the beach bar.. same problem as before. In May mathematically it doesn’t work.. you can’t have 2 guys serving the entire restaurants and 500 people on the beach.. (getting a drink could be over an hour wait)there should be an online ordering system, separate cashiers taking the orders, and probably 10 bartenders in the peak times.. as much as the bartenders did there best and were very nice dealing with an impossible situation, there is no chance they could deal with that. 3) The face 2 face staff really need to have have basic language skills, lots of staff spoke English well, but some clearly didn’t (who were taking orders) this is minor, but just teach them up.. if you want to deliver 5 star service.
Well this was our second stay this year at pine cliffs. The first one was just as the boarders opened up with the covid situation and the at that time pine Cliffs failed to deliver. Happy to report on this occasion way better… not perfect but good! The restaurants were open and in full swing, and getting a table when and where we wanted was much easier. ( we did pre-book all the restaurants in advance on the website) you need to put a credit card number to lock the reservation. We had an amazing dinner at ‘La Mare’ in the first night… the wind spoiled the last night there for us a bit! ( can’t hold that against Pine Cliffs the food was still great!) What keeps us coming back is the combination of the grounds/ resort , the beach, and the clientele which it attracts. (The type of people that the resort attacks are politeand well mannered

United KingdomThe beds at the beach . The blue pads need replaced . We’ve been since 2005 and I think these must be the same pads . My husband had to double pad the bed so his back did not hurt. Also , we don’t like the roping off of the front row . Again having been since 2005 it changes the feel of the beach and we do t think it is necessary.
Breakfast was super . Catered to all tastes . Staff were superb . All staff responded to our requests within the whole hotel . The Covid cleaning was excellent and made us feel safe . Liked the fact a testing facility was made available on site . The eurocar service was efficient. The beds in the rooms were superb. The gym was really good . Well kitted out despite being small. The restaurants outside the hotel are of excellent quality and great value .

United KingdomThe Shops within the hotel area were in some cases ridiculously expensive. One and a half euros for a picture postcard when outside they sell for forty or fortyfive cents.
