Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Exceptional apartment, home away from home, we would recommend this apartment to anyone and also located in a perfect area next to the old town, restaurants and shops.

Everything clean, big rooms, good smell, city center location, we had everything we needed in the kitchen, a small shop right next to the main entrance, we had a perfect stay!

A very spacious apartment. Beautiful rooms and the living room is also spacious. The kitchen is very well equipped down to the smallest details. There is private parking, very important for car owners.

Perfect location in the center of the old town. Very beautifully arranged rooms, clean and quality appliances and comfy beds. Parking was available right in front of the house. The whole place looks better in reality than in pictures.

The apartment is new, spacious, clean and beautiful. The rooms are very big, the kitchen is well equipped (amazing coffee machine!) and having a washing machine and a dryer is a big bonus. The apartment is 5 min walk from the city square. Great location! Highly recommended!

You have to deal with stairs. The arrival to get the key wasn’t entirely smooth. We showed up at the scheduled time but had to wait for the manager. She was helpful in other ways during my stay

There was some noise from the street because the windows are not calibrated ok and they cannot be closed the right way.
Location is near to the city center.

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Stef, the rooms are big and bright, the beds are very confortable, it is within walking distance from city center and right next to a supermarket and a park, which is very convenient when you are travelling with children 😅 The kitchen is fully equipped and it was a pleasure to try a new coffee maker. We will surely return to Casa Stef for our next Sibiu stay

Absolutely nothing. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating. I wish we had long term plans to stay in this apartment. Actually I wish I owned this apartment except our family is based in Bucharest. I will beg and adjust my schedule in the future just to fit in this apartment should we visit Sibiu again (which we plan to - it’s a beautiful experience)
Obviously the beds! They we so comfortable. I am American and have been coming to Romania for the last 25 years. I am always so disappointed by the beds in hotels and Airbnb‘s. This two bedroom apartment had super comfortable beds and excellent linens. I felt like I was in a high-quality apartment in America. Everything we needed was there. We did our laundry for our family of four during our 8 Day road trip. The kitchen had top line appliances and furnishings felt like they were provided by West Elm. So lovely in fact it made us stay an extra night in Sibiu. The location can’t be happy being in upper town and just on the north east corner of town right near the medieval ramparts. Parking was also provided - we did not move our car at all.

The sofa bed... not that comfortable. I would not recommend it for adults.
Very good location (walking distance to main square), very clean, spacious bedrooms. Comfy beds. Host very reactive and providing all the needed information.

Communication with the host. More kindness would have done wonders. We only kept in touch by text message, and even then she sometimes seemed quite rude.
Very good location, a few minutes walking distance from the centre. The accommodation was very good quality. The pictures show it well, in reality we were still surprised how well equipped it was. I would highlight the great coffee machine filled with quality coffee beans.
