Nobody in reception before 7:30 and after 5. The bed and the room were not done the last day and we supposed that it was because we left next morning because we have no other explanation

When we arrived, the room was cold. Just a suggestion, please turn on the radiators before a guest has arrived during colder days :) The bed and pillows were a bit on the "soggy" side and could do with an upgrade. The sofa in the superior room was also in need of some TLC, it was extremely lumpy to sit in and not very comfortable. The heating in the bathroom didn't work although we tried all kinds of settings. We also felt a bit sorry for the lone cleaner who was sometimes overloaded with work on certain days when there were many guests, a help during more hectic days might be a good idea

We have stayed at Slottbacken on several occasions during the years and it's still a favorite in Visby. Out-of-season prices are extremely good value for money, the location is perfect, the breakfast excellent, the rooms cosy and the staff has always been great here (thank you Sandra and Jenny). There is also a small space to park the car (at a slight fee). The superior room we stayed on (on two levels) was tastefully decorated. And the same goes for the rest of the hotel btw

Air conditioning means two windows and a fan which is fine if it isn't too hot. If you need to keep the windows open during the night, you may here some noice outdoors.

The hotel has a good location on the edge of the old town and close to ferry port. Although the room is pretty compact the bathroom is a good size.

The room was really hot and noisy. you could really hear every time someone was walking in and out the rooms in the corridor. For an hotel of this price I would expect no noise and AC in the room

Centrally located and at a walking distance from both the ferry and Visby city center. The room was spacious and really clean and the outside garden was a plus.

Standard breakfast at Swedish hotels with gluten free, lactose free options. Very clean and comfortable and just a short walk from the ferry. Easy to walk around as the hotel is within the inner walls. Loved my stay here!

I miss common areas to just relax, you must stay on your room while in hotel. The breakfast room is not nice to hang around in. Very small windows due to the old type of building, but it makes dark rooms.

Breakfast was very basic for a 4 star hotel. No waffles, no fresh juice, jams in small plastic boxes. The hotel is for sleeping. It’s nice but small, there’s no common sitting area. If you got an uneventful winter evening you’d have to sit in your room on your bed. Tv got only 4 channels. They keep cookies and tea out in the lobby for a late night snack though 😊

A nice hotel in an old building on a quite street. Reception manager was super nice and helpful, let us choose the room we liked best (number 202 had a big window😊). There is a car parking on the property (inside the wall in Visby it means a lot). Bed was super comfortable, a real double bed with no gap in the middle. Bathroom was clean, smelled strange at first but the smell disappeared after the first shower. In an old building that’s understandable.

Opening hours in the reception could be a little bit later than they are. The patio on the back of the hotel has great potential, but needs a little bit of TLC, it looks run-down and not like the picture on their homepage

The breakfast is great, the beds very comfortable, the room has a great atmosphere with a view over the harbour and the location is just perfect. The final thing to point out is that the staff is excellent. One person to mention especially is Sandra in the reception who is a real gem and very professional while still being personal and social.
