Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyA lovely hotel near Malmö Centralstation, in the old town. Very unique, very personal, lovely details (the elevator, the signed photos of musicians which stayed at the hotel), breakfast is in the old vault in the basement.

United KingdomFor less physically able people the stairs can be a problem as the lift doesn't go all the way down to the breakfast area. I know it is not run by the hotel but beware, the bar is very expensive!
I have stayed at the Tunneln before and l would always stay there when visiting Malmö. As it is not a chain hotel it has an individual feel. I love the artwork and the library where you can entertain friends and even make them a drink. The breakfast room in the arches is wonderful as is the breakfast itself.

ThailandThe matrass was a little hard and I first thought it was going to be uncomfortable. But it was fine.
Very unique, quirky, comfortable, hotel, with a perfect location. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Lenin, Judy Galrand, Sammy Davis Jr. and The Beatles apparently stayed at this hotel full of history. Breakfast was excellent.

SwedenIn the larger room there was quite some dust on certain places, like on the books on the shelve near the bed (not the only place). The shower was hard to get into, especially if you are small like my girlfriend. In the large room most light switches do nothing. The hotel is linked to fine dining but has no bar of their own (plenty of places outside on crawling distance though).
Central location, parking at the hotel (not cheap though), great breakfast interesting atmosphere. Relatively good pricing. The smaller room was very clean, though the bed was a bit small for our liking (but can't complain for the price). I preferred the small room over the larger one with balcony and double bed due to cleanliness and ease of access if the bathroom.

GermanyThis hotel is all about the atmosphere and attention to detail - a nice combination of tradition and comfort, plus some nice artsy touches here and there. Breakfast is good, the rooms calm and the beds comfy. Parking nearby is easy but - as to be expected in a central city location - not exactly cheap.

Breakfast was great, the hotel was a beautiful building which had been a former library, with an ecletic mix of old grand hotel style and modern art.

AustriaIf anything, the duvet could have been a bit wider. Luckily, we like to cuddle 😄
This place oozes charm and history. It's hard to believe when you enter that less than 25 years ago, this was a run-down inn "popular only with easy women and the homeless". But when you talk to the staff, you instantly feel the dedication and pride in having created something beautiful from rubbles. The room we had was small, as advertised, but with the friendly staff, stately reading room with free coffee and tea, and great breakfast in the historic basement arcades that gave the hotel its name, it still felt like we got much more than what we paid for. We only stayed one night (as do most tourists here, apparently), but felt sorry to leave again so soon. If we ever come back to Malmö, this is where we'll stay again!

FinlandTunneln is a historic hotel in the center of the pedestrian district of Malmö, 10 minutes' walk from the railway station. The hotel is really charming, with a comfortable library-bar, artwork throughout, and rooms with both trendy and historic touches. The breakfast had a good selection. My second stay and I'll certainly be back next time in Malmö.

AustriaGenerous breakfast is served in the ancient cellars, but small details could be improved on. For inexplicable reasons, the button for espresso on the coffee machine has been removed - for me who likes a quadruple espresso for breakfast, a minor irritation. The coffee is located at the other end of the cellar from where the rest of the breakfast is served, again a very minor irritation. In all, this is an excellent hotel!
Charming hotel with much interesting history dating back to the early 14th century, lovingly displayed and explained. Superbly friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location close to central station and city center. Very nice library next to the lobby - an excellent place to rest with a good book and a glass of house red.
