Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The internet connection and also not having access to Netflix or Youtube. There being no locks to the bedrooms in the apartments.
I did not use any breakfast, since we opted to prepare our own meals.

1. I saw in the other reviews there were roaches, I saw it had been months since that was reported. So I hoped that would be the case, however, when we got there within a few minutes there was a small roach in the kitchen sink. During our stay there were two other larger roaches that came flying in the living room. So perhaps more spraying for bugs needs to be done, or more often. 2. We tried to use the stove, several different persons tried, and no one could get the stove to work. We don't know if it just didn't have gas. We just didn't bother asking after the 2nd day. Tap in the kitchen sink needs to checked, you have to use the rag nearby to fully turn it off or it drips. 3. The bathroom/toilet have no windows, so when you have several persons using one toilet and nowhere for the odors to go, it made it pretty uncomfortable and gross. There needs to be a window in bathrooms for ventilation. There was a fan in the shower section but no switch to turn it on nor did it appear to work. The lower level of the fridge took hours to fully get cold, I assume because it's often off before persons arrive. 4. There didn't appear to really be staff other than perhaps the owner, a male and the security. When I did come back to the apartment, sometimes I could find a staff (I assume owners), but not always. When we did see her, she was pleasant. I didn't get to ask her about food, nor did she offer to tell us what was available. If there was a food option, she'd benefit more from having that information on a sheet in the apartment. There was another sheet with all the information so it's possible to do the same for food. 5. Bed was okay. Sheets due to their age didn't feel clean or new There was a blanket in every cupboard, but none of us used it as it smelt dusty like it hadn't been washed or used in a long time and just left in there.
It was in a good location, had parking, had space in both the rooms and apartment and yard; we were told there was laundry facilities on site so that is good (didn't use it due to the time limitation of before 10am); close to stores/shops. AC unit worked that was nice. There is a pool (I didn't use it) but some of the others in the group did, not major issues there, they did allow us to have one or two non guest come over to swim with them so we appreciated that as well.

I did not have Wifi connection for the entire trip I could not work, the frontdesk said there is nothing they could do about that😢
