Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsOur room was a little small, so no real wardrobe there, but we knew that before. There are bigger rooms. If you travel around and use this hotel as a base it’s no big deal. If you want to stay there all the time, ask for a larger room.
Everything you need is here. A cozy place with nice breakfast, a Good bed, really EXCELLENT AIRCO and WiFi, good location in Paramaribo and most important of all, just EXCELLENT SERVICE. Really all staff are amazing, informative and always available for help, questions and/or extra requests. Really they go out of their way to make you comfortable. It’s like others before us mentioned in the guest book: one feels at home, it’s like visiting family. It’s a good 3 star place, nicely kept with little pool, lounge area and breakfast area in one. The gardener is amazing! He keeps the place so nice with all the several plants and flowers. The receptionists, the cleaning, the breakfast lady, the night porters are also wonderful. They bring you what you need before you can ask. The owner of this family-run hotel is also often there for information and service. Upon request he prepared us an amazing dinner. We had a great stay and cannot wait to return.

NetherlandsSome rooms have a limited view
Small family run hotel with basic but clean rooms. However, what sets this hotel apart is the wonderful open air dining/lounge area with a pool, lush plants and chirping birds. A little Garden Eden in Paramaribo. Staff (e.g. Lucie) are just great, helpful and accomodating.

United States of AmericaThis hotel has a very nice pool and pool area, and various nooks throughout the building to read and relax. The room was sober, but very comfortable with AC and a decent shower.

BelgiumWe experienced the double room that some of us were in as really a bit cramped, having just a little more space would have made the stay better.
The hotel is in a good location, within easy reach of downtown but without all the noise of the city center. We greatly enjoyed the swimming pool and the music night on the last day of our stay

United States of AmericaThey have a pool, but it's more like a water feature in the middle of the lobby. It' looks nice and adds ambience to the lobby, but It's too small for swimming and even if you just want to wade in, the water was a little cloudy and some leaves were floating on the top and others sunk at the bottom.
Good breakfast, beautiful lobby.

United States of AmericaThis was our first time in Suriname and we were blown away by our stay at Holland Lodge. 1) The staff was exceptional! Before our arrival, they helped us with an airport transfer (the airport is FAR from the city, spring for the transport!). During our stay they helped us do laundry for a reasonable price, helped us order food when we arrived late, and also helped us book a dolphin cruise last minute. Even more so they went above and beyond. I got a pretty nasty infection the day before we left for the interior and Sherona helped me find a doctor, called her on my behalf, and helped me set up the my appointment- truly incredible service! Then we ordered food a second time and were told by Pizza Hut they would take my visa credit card upon delivery. This was untrue but Lucy at the front desk immediately stepped in, paid him in cash on our behalf and put it on our room bill- absolutely amazing service! 2) This place was CLEAN- like clean clean. The sheets were spotless, the room was white glove clean which we really appreciated. 3) Breakfast- Breakfast was 12USD to add on which seemed steep but it was so nice not to worry about it in the morning and the food was fantastic. We truly appreciated our stay and the staff is truly who blew this place out of the water! Incredible. We hope to visit again!

NetherlandsNothing to dislike here, but I do recommend the larger downstairs rooms that give direct access to the garden and pool.
I've been around the world (60 countries), but never felt at home abroad more than here due to the friendly atmosphere The manager and staff were exceptional. We spent a lot of time chatting with them and other guests around the well kept garden and pool. With a lovely old style charm, the property was squeaky clean. The little library on the second floor landing was a nice touch. Even though we’d planned to book a famous 5 star hotel after our inland tour in Suriname, this is where we’ll return for its value for money!

GuyanaPool was not cleaned every day of our stay or maybe because it was an open area there were flies. Rooms could be more sound proof, can hear persons walking loudly above your head affects your rest. Wifi on the southern half of the building is poor. Had to switch rooms due to a leaking AC unit. Rooms are a bit smaller than photographed.
The hotel was centrally located. Very close to all amemities you could need. Staff was friendly. Pool was open for use. And food was prepared on site and was very good.

GermanyVery inflexible with booking. Booked 2 nights, but arrived late (with notification of the hotel) because I was kept one night at border. Hotel owner was not willing to compromise and charge less (or compensate). Stayed de facto only one night, no bf, but had to pay full two nights, two bf (not even a symbolic compensation like a free drink offered). So be careful what you book there, not customer oriented.
