Our room was a little small, so no real wardrobe there, but we knew that before. There are bigger rooms. If you travel around and use this hotel as a base it’s no big deal. If you want to stay there all the time, ask for a larger room.

Everything you need is here. A cozy place with nice breakfast, a Good bed, really EXCELLENT AIRCO and WiFi, good location in Paramaribo and most important of all, just EXCELLENT SERVICE. Really all staff are amazing, informative and always available for help, questions and/or extra requests. Really they go out of their way to make you comfortable. It’s like others before us mentioned in the guest book: one feels at home, it’s like visiting family. It’s a good 3 star place, nicely kept with little pool, lounge area and breakfast area in one. The gardener is amazing! He keeps the place so nice with all the several plants and flowers. The receptionists, the cleaning, the breakfast lady, the night porters are also wonderful. They bring you what you need before you can ask. The owner of this family-run hotel is also often there for information and service. Upon request he prepared us an amazing dinner. We had a great stay and cannot wait to return.

Some rooms have a limited view

Small family run hotel with basic but clean rooms. However, what sets this hotel apart is the wonderful open air dining/lounge area with a pool, lush plants and chirping birds. A little Garden Eden in Paramaribo. Staff (e.g. Lucie) are just great, helpful and accomodating.

This hotel has a very nice pool and pool area, and various nooks throughout the building to read and relax. The room was sober, but very comfortable with AC and a decent shower.

Cosy family hotel with friendly staff

    • Deluxe Triple Room
    • Stayed 3 nights

We experienced the double room that some of us were in as really a bit cramped, having just a little more space would have made the stay better.

The hotel is in a good location, within easy reach of downtown but without all the noise of the city center. We greatly enjoyed the swimming pool and the music night on the last day of our stay

They have a pool, but it's more like a water feature in the middle of the lobby. It' looks nice and adds ambience to the lobby, but It's too small for swimming and even if you just want to wade in, the water was a little cloudy and some leaves were floating on the top and others sunk at the bottom.

    Good breakfast, beautiful lobby.

This was our first time in Suriname and we were blown away by our stay at Holland Lodge. 1) The staff was exceptional! Before our arrival, they helped us with an airport transfer (the airport is FAR from the city, spring for the transport!). During our stay they helped us do laundry for a reasonable price, helped us order food when we arrived late, and also helped us book a dolphin cruise last minute. Even more so they went above and beyond. I got a pretty nasty infection the day before we left for the interior and Sherona helped me find a doctor, called her on my behalf, and helped me set up the my appointment- truly incredible service! Then we ordered food a second time and were told by Pizza Hut they would take my visa credit card upon delivery. This was untrue but Lucy at the front desk immediately stepped in, paid him in cash on our behalf and put it on our room bill- absolutely amazing service! 2) This place was CLEAN- like clean clean. The sheets were spotless, the room was white glove clean which we really appreciated. 3) Breakfast- Breakfast was 12USD to add on which seemed steep but it was so nice not to worry about it in the morning and the food was fantastic. We truly appreciated our stay and the staff is truly who blew this place out of the water! Incredible. We hope to visit again!

Nothing to dislike here, but I do recommend the larger downstairs rooms that give direct access to the garden and pool.

I've been around the world (60 countries), but never felt at home abroad more than here due to the friendly atmosphere The manager and staff were exceptional. We spent a lot of time chatting with them and other guests around the well kept garden and pool. With a lovely old style charm, the property was squeaky clean. The little library on the second floor landing was a nice touch. Even though we’d planned to book a famous 5 star hotel after our inland tour in Suriname, this is where we’ll return for its value for money!

Some of the staff members are a bit incompetent. But rest will make up for it:) Mosquitos downstairs are a pain

Manager on site was the nicest ever:) Please trust me on this one - I've been to 150 countries and hundreds and hundreds of hotels. Food was great, location is convenient, room is more on a basic side, but clean comfy and has all you need.

Pool was not cleaned every day of our stay or maybe because it was an open area there were flies. Rooms could be more sound proof, can hear persons walking loudly above your head affects your rest. Wifi on the southern half of the building is poor. Had to switch rooms due to a leaking AC unit. Rooms are a bit smaller than photographed.

The hotel was centrally located. Very close to all amemities you could need. Staff was friendly. Pool was open for use. And food was prepared on site and was very good.

Very inflexible with booking. Booked 2 nights, but arrived late (with notification of the hotel) because I was kept one night at border. Hotel owner was not willing to compromise and charge less (or compensate). Stayed de facto only one night, no bf, but had to pay full two nights, two bf (not even a symbolic compensation like a free drink offered). So be careful what you book there, not customer oriented.

Clean rooms nice communal areas nice pool area very helpful receptionists

the location of the property is perfect the roads are not to busy but it is centrally located. I walked from the hotel to the city center everything is very close.
