Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyOverall the hotel interiors seem a bit dated, especially from stylistic perspective - which is not such a big deal, as you usually come here to see the beach and surroundings. The rooms are poorly noise-damped, so we had two bad nights with noisy neighbors from above and we can imagine you need good "sleeping assistance" in peak periods. groups hanging around in their hotel rooms, shouting loud until midnight were quite common. The lifeguard/entertaining personell were "very relaxed" and policed everyone to wear lifejackets in the sea and bathing caps in the swimming pool. although otherwise stated on displays it was not possible to rent equipment like bodyboards/surfboards/seakayaks except in the form of occasional advertised communal events. don't expect every staff member understands english.
The beach was very clean, maybe due to the often strong winds. Breakfast buffet was plentyful and with some day-to-day variety. Sitting on the porch right on the beachfront is quite spectacular. The pool area is well maintained. the woman at the bar was really friendly. night market is just a few steps away. national park area worth a day trip not far away.

TaiwanThe bathroom is abit odd. If you are a bigger person it would be a struggle to close the shower door as it closes the wrong way. Staff provided average service.
One of the only resorts absolute beachfront. Location was ok and a good 5 min walk to the night markets. The 2 lady’s at the bar on the beach were great.

United KingdomI think the bathroom could be given a little more care on cleaning, the hotel was quite expensive for what it is, but whether that’s deserved is subjective. I had a great stay.
Great location with a very friendly atmosphere. Staff were courteous and accommodating.

TaiwanDid not provide any sun umbrellas for chilling at the beach and the wooden benches were a little hard. I felt like the staff at the restaurant and some at the pool area could have been more friendly. Cleaning and check in staff were super friendly though. Small and unimportant complaint: the music they play at the pool and beach area was very annoying.
Beautiful location directly at the beach and in walking distance to Kenting night market. Shuttle bus from Kaohsiung station is very convenient (albeit not free). Facilities are all clean, especially the pool and the gym area. Breakfast was okay, could have a little more variety in fruits and vegetables. Definitely a relaxing stay!

AustraliaWhile the location was stunning, the property is in need of a refurb or upgrade to really feel five star. We felt it was a little dated or ‘tired’. It’s certainly isn’t up to the standards of five star hotels in day Thailand or Singapore. There were also some obscure rules which felt odd to us as Australians. We had to sign a disclaimer to swim in the (flat) ocean without life jackets and guests were also expected to wear swimming caps in the pool. Service wise, many of the staff spoke limited English and rather than try to persevere they just fobbed us off. Thank goodness for google translate!
Beautiful beachside location in Kenting. Well located - easy access to town and transport links. Unbeatable views. Large rooms.

SwedenSome parts of the hotel feel a bit outdated and in need of a refreshment/renovation. At least for the price you pay you'd expect it to be a bit more modern. The buffé restaurants can also be a bit noicy at times, but it is after all a very big and also family friendly resort so it is perhaps to be expected.
The hotel is perfectly located with direct access to the beautiful beach and the Kenting night market nearby. The rooms are spacious with comfy beds and the hotel has plenty of facilities. The breakfast and dinner buffés offers a wide variety of local and western food that is fresh and well prepared. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Germany- there is not much around the hotel, however there is a 7eleven a few minutes down the road.
- nice beach, bar was ok. You can swim, though there are quite some waves - room fully functional and ok - personal helped me to book transfer to Houbihu port - you can get there by bus from Kaoshiung station by taking the bus and get off at Kenting Arch. From there you a few minutes walk to the hotel.

United States of AmericaNothing to complain about. Going to a big all-inclusive resort during the summer we expected to encounter the usual - crowded, noisy, full of kids, etc. - and it would have been fine if we had. But we didn't! Our time at Chateau Beach was peaceful and relaxing!
Beautiful beach! Lots of waves when we were there so no swimming, but it didn't matter. We were quite happy to sit in beach chairs, watch the waves and relax. An easy walk into town for restaurants and shops if that is your thing. We did the half-board so breakfast and dinner were included. Good food (and plenty of it) with lots of options. As a vegetarian it can sometimes be difficult, but Chateau Beach had more options for me than anywhere else we stayed during our vacation. The house band at dinner was great too!
